Certainly an improvement given his predecessors. I'm not wild about him, though.

I have a personnel dislike of him that borders an Orwellian ten minute hate in the even numbered years, but he could be worse. Better than Romney and Bush, but still in the bottom ten worse presidents we have yet to hand.

HP (Horrible Policies), though I have to give him some credit lately on Iran, and he has some likeable qualities. Overall I'd rank him about average as far as US Presidents go.

One of the greats.

The revisionism of Atlas posters is shocking. It's as if everyone has had selective amnesia about the challenges confronting this administration from the party of treason, sedition, obstruction and libel.

TNF showing off his True Leftist credentials.

Yeah, because we all know it's crazy to call one's self a left-winger and not support a man who wants to turn public education into nothing more than a parasitic "charter school" system, who continues to push austerity in the face of economic reality, and who's healthcare law requires everyone to buy insurance from the parasitic insurance industry. I don't agree with many of his political views. However, I don't hate him, and I'm starting to find the amount of hate he gets form both the left and the right annoying. So I voted FF, but just barley.

A forceful progressive and easily the best President America has had since 1968. He has his flaws, but those are pretty benign in the American context.

if he had gotten arrested when he was young for 'a little blow' (in his charming words) and subject to the same laws he enforces for 'disadvantaged youth' i can't help but wonder if the world would be better off today. ditto for bush

FF, obviously, massive FF in the context of American politics.

Since you bring it up, Arne Duncan is actually one of the best in Obama's cabinet, too.

True Leftist Fallacy

1) An FF is someone who largely or entirely shares my political views
2) I, a socialist teenager, entirely share my own political views, therefore I am an FF
2) To be an FF the President should therefore be as politically close to me as possible
3) The President does not share the political views of a socialist teenager
4) The President is thus not an FF

Or it might be because Obama has had a tendency to bend over backwards to appease the Republicans and implement blindingly statist policy in the meantime.

Any theory of "non-statist" socialism is basically inherently a naive teenager's excuse for an ideology, although I do apologise for lumping you in with the Snowstalkers of the world.

@Lief and Oakvale: The two of you must not be very familiar with libertarian socialism as an ideology. Tongue Socialism is based in economics, at any rate, and statism to me refers to barefaced restrictions placed upon actual individual autonomy and privacy rights, ergo the PATRIOT Act and the NDAA and the recent epidemic of legislation like SOPA.

Because it's a fictional ideology.

Socialism is often understood to be more than a system of economy, social justice and other issues of equality are core to socialism. You seem to be referring to authoritarianism, and you'll find me to be one of the Dems here that agrees with you most on those sort of issues. I still contend that "statist" is a word that's out of place coming from anyone other than a thirteen year old Ron Paul fanboy.
