could be a solid strategy if he's looking to construct some plausible-deniability when his wife calls 'Barack!' and he doesn't care to respond.

Obvious FF.

Anyone who thinks Hillary Clinton wouldn't be completely vilified and despised by the Republican base after five years as President will understand how things really work if Clinton runs in 2016.  Maybe Lindsey Graham will open a charity to donate blood to Benghazi victims.  You never really know how these guys will respond.  There will definitely be mentions of Whitewater, and Obamacare will gain a new identity as Hillarycare.

FF overall, although I definately don't agree with him on everything. I think that Mitt Romney would have made an even worse President if he won somehow in 2012.

You do realize Ted Kennedy got the dog and Sasha and Malia Obama named him?

I wouldn't know that, but then again, most non Obamadroids have better things to think about besides Michelle's bangs, or Sasha and Malia's dog.

Weird that you have this impression because the people most obsessed with these things are racists looking for aspects of the Obama family to criticize.

And that the dog is named after the late Bo Diddley?

I'm pretty sure opposition to Michelle's bangs are 40% of the Tea Party platform.

He's a good President being impeded by the economy and Republicans.  He can't just snap his fingers and get 4% unemployment and a rational Republican Party.  In the context of our current politics, we couldn't have done much better than Obama.

That said, I have three complaints.

He should have passed a bigger stimulus in 2009, with no tax cuts.

He should have gotten Harry Reid to axe the filibuster in 2009, asked the Congress to work overtime and slammed through legislation like crazy when Democrats controlled both Houses.

He should have had more chutzpah and used the bully pulpit and the media to advance his agenda.

Leaving the value of "should have" aside in all three instances, the real issue is "could have?".

About the only major issue he could've pulled off with better acumen and timing would've been voting to renew all the Bush-era tax cuts except the one for the $200k+ bracket while he still had a supermajority a year ahead of their expiration. When ALL the tax cuts came up for renewal post 2010 election the GOP had him by the balls to allow renewal of all tax cuts.

(The wisdom of raising taxes during the worst recession in 80 years not being the issue here).
