So you're having burgers for dinner?  The diet is dead.  And now I know you'll say, "No one should diet on holidays", but you realize that you take breaks from your diet for weekends, birthdays, holidays, etc... you're not on a diet, man... You're morbidly obese and doing practically nothing about it.

Except losing weight.

Disregarding the week that you've been sick, since everyone loses weight when they're sick (and if it was something stomach-related, it's pretty clearly a direct cause of the weight loss), you haven't been losing weight.  You've plateaued at 260.

I'm sitting at 259 right now.

1. That's what the scale says right now, or that's what you think it would say if you weighed yourself?  We all know you're terrible at approximating your own weight.

2. Either way, what you weigh right now is lower than what you'll be in days to come unless you start eating less crap and exercising more because you've been sick.  You weight is artificially lower than what it would be if you hadn't been sick.  If you've had some sort of stomach bug, you're probably dehydrated, and that's lowering your weight due to a loss of water.

Bushie you've been stuck at 260, plus or minus a few pounds, for the past month or two. You've plateaued, and until you actually change your diet to something healthy you're not going to lose much more weight.

This may be a mistake, but I like to weigh in the evenings so I can kind of get a gauge on the next morning.  The evening weigh ins are never recorded, but tonight it shows I should be able to lose a little bit of weight by morning.  I normally lose two to three pounds between night and morning, so if that trend continues, I should be somewhere between 258-259.  Right now, it shows 261.8 after all the food has been consumed for today.  I did stay under my calorie goal today, though not as low as I thought.  My goal is 2,140 and my hope today was to stay under 1,800, but I ended up with 2,050 today.  This should still let me lose a bit of weight in the morning.  It may be water weight, but it will be a lower number than it was this morning, which is ultimately the goal.  I will be having light calorie days the rest of the week because of being busy the next three nights.  Mom and Dad are going on vacation this weekend, so I'll probably eat light while they're gone.

I find it odd that you can get such precise numbers for your caloric intake.  Getting numbers precise usually requires measuring and weighing things that you aren't eating in whole units (like a hamburger bun or a pre-made burger patty).

For dinner, grilled hamburgers and grilled corn on the cob.

I do weigh first thing in the morning - that is the official reading.  I get up, take a dump, and then weigh before I get dressed.  Usually, I will step on the scale two or three times to make sure the scale doesn't change on me.  The evening readings are just to get a feeling for what I'll weigh in the morning, but those readings are not recorded, only the morning.

I read the nutrition info on the packages quite a bit, do a lot of measuring, and use the myfitnesspal app.
