FDR, Truman, Ike, and... John Quincy Adams.

(But, seriously, just FDR.)

Uh... I'd order Mt Rushmore's immediate restoration. Any stone removed in defacing it with those inane presidential faces should be restored to its original position, by the surviving perpetrators or their descendants.

The... thing is just completely unbefitting any state that came into existence after the early middle ages and was never ruled by a bloodthirsty megalomaniac autocrat.

FDR, Eisenhower, Reagan, and maybe Hoover? If not, then either Wilson or Kennedy.

So you want to destroy the only reason anyone even knows about South Dakota?

Only FDR.  If I had to pick three others, they would be Madison, Grant, and Truman.

Somewhat unrelated, but quite amusing--there was once a funny and stupid question asked by a tourist at Mount Rushmore:

"I recognized George and Martha, but who were the other couple?"

FDR, Eisenhower, Kennedy, and save a spot for Barack Obama.

Or maybe have a non-President. Martin Luther King? Alexander Hamilton?

To go by traditional Firsts:

Truman (first authorized nuclear bombings)

JFK (SECOND youngest President (he needed to be on here... (NASA))

Nixon (first resigned)

Ford (first Pres. and VP not elected)

and Ike (interstates...self explanitory)

my list:

Reagan, JFK, Ike, FDR (sorry, but he was that Big, but I don't necessarily call him "great" just "okay" to "good") and either John Adams, J. Q. Adams, or James Monroe (Era of Good Feelings should explain it...)

Why should JFK be on there? What did he do besides look pretty and get assassinated?

Cuban missile crisis. He may have stopped World War III.

Based on actual accomplishments? FDR, Truman, Ike, and LBJ.

Based on today's lame conventional wisdom, it would probably go something like FDR, Ike, JFK and Reagan.

I guess I am today's lame conventional wisdom?

I didn't vote for Presidents only because I agree with them, but Reagan had a huge historical impact.

I don't think a President who made America an objectively worse place should have his face on that mount. Call me a hack if you want.

So then you couldn't put LBJ up there. Vietnam and the failed great society programs were the most harmful things done by the presidents in the available list except for Wilson.

Reagan, Eisenhower, Truman & Harding from this list. If all presidents were open Grant would replace Harding.

I would have never put Teddy Roosevelt on in the first place though

FDR, Truman, JFK, & Jimmy Carter

Carter should have more votes than he does. With Iran, Carter was just there at the wrong time while Reagan took advantage of it. He did a lot of great stuff during his tenure: the Departments of Energy & Education, SALT II, pushed for health care reform, gave amnesty to Vietnam draft dodgers, and gradually improved relations with Panama and between the Israelis and Arabs.

Yes, people seem to forget that not so minor fact.

Anyway:
FDR, Ike, JFK, Reagan

The Departments of Energy & Education are bad things that should be abolished. Carter created the mess in Iran when he withdrew support for the Shah. Improved relations between arabs & Israelis? Really? They still hate each other! What Carter did was bribe Israel & Egypt to accept a treaty that was beneficial to both of them at the tune of $1 billion each per year in US tax dollars.
Carter withdrew the SALT II treaty, so he doesn't get credit for that one either
