FDR
Ike
JFK
Reagan

I'm not sure if any other choices could be serious. It really was that easy.

I realize you were only including the presidents since Teddy in your list, but with four heads to be added, there were some of the older ones I'd rather include.

FDR, Ike, John Adams, Andrew Jackson

As I understand it, there is room to carve one more head, and for that, I think FDR would be the best choice.

Based on actual accomplishments? FDR, Truman, Ike, and LBJ.

Based on today's lame conventional wisdom, it would probably go something like FDR, Ike, JFK and Reagan.

FDR, Truman, Ike, and LBJ.

But some of the older presidents would be more deserving than the latter three.

I guess I am today's lame conventional wisdom?

I didn't vote for Presidents only because I agree with them, but Reagan had a huge historical impact.

Uh... I'd order Mt Rushmore's immediate restoration. Any stone removed in defacing it with those inane presidential faces should be restored to its original position, by the surviving perpetrators or their descendants.

The... thing is just completely unbefitting any state that came into existence after the early middle ages and was never ruled by a bloodthirsty megalomaniac autocrat.

In fact they're the only ones in the group remotely deserving. I can't possibly put Johnson up for Vietnam and I disagree so completely with Reagan's ideology, I wouldn't want to put him up there.

I disagree with Reagan's too, but he's way more deserving than everyone else on there (besides FDR, Ike and maybe JFK).

FDR, Truman, Eisenhower, and JFK.

I would love to see Carter get his own monument one day, but preferably one that commemorates his post-presidency.

I don't think a President who made America an objectively worse place should have his face on that mount. Call me a hack if you want.

I have to agree.  I mean, Dubya also had a huge historical impact, but I don't think we'll be seeing his face on that mountain any time soon. Tongue

I can only cast votes for FDR and JFK as I think they are truly worthy. But Ike and Truman would be in line behind them.

Why no McKinley on the poll? I'd like to choose him. After that, I'd probably have to consider one of the Adams boys, FDR possibly, Ike, and Reagan. Not sure who of those though.

I agree with this.  But if we are going to carve our dead leaders into the sides of mountains, do we really want to do it for complete assholes like LBJ?
