you act as if sexual fantasies are a bad thing!

They can be a good thing is if its you and your wife, but anything outside of that is sin.

oh bushie.  that kind of thinking is self destructive.

and plus you are single!  so even with that kind of twisted thinking...you are free to fantasize about any woman!

While that is true, I would prefer to fantasize about the woman who will become my wife (whomever that is).  I don't want to fantasize about any and every woman, for that is just as destructive as fantasizing about another woman while you are married.

Bushie, I feel very sorry for you that people you trust and look up to have made you feel guilty about your natural and not at all harmful sexual needs and desires.

I personally believe its okay to a point, but when it becomes an obsession its a whole different matter.  What it does it to a single man or single woman is skews their views of what their mate should be like.  They see all this fantasy on the Internet, and by and large most sexual relationships within marriage are nothing like what is shown on the Internet or on Adult Television Channels, etc.  And, thus, when the mate does not meet the expectations set forth by the Internet, the person becomes disappointed, disenchanted, and disinterested and that can lead into an even worse problem - infidelity and/or divorce.

Did you order any adult television channels in Utah? Is that what you were spending your money on?

Bushie, fantasize about women and what you want to do with them while pumping iron. I know I do - about men. Smiley  Your imagination can be more erotic than actual visual images.

That's actually not a bad idea.

By that logic, 1950s shows are sinful because nobody's family can be that perfect. And scripted comedies are sinful because nobody's family is that funny. And so forth. You're making all of entertainment, by definition, bad. And that's a shame. There's no shortage of very bad stuff in the world. Violence. Disease. Starvation. Jacking off in front of the computer doesn't even register.

I don't know, I think Bushie has something of a point. Certainly pornography presents a fantasy; real sex has very little in common with pornographic sex, real relationships and interactions between males and females are very different from those in pornography, and real people look and act very differently from porn actors. I think the fact that Bushie recognizes and understands this is very mature and healthy. But as long as you recognize that pornography is just a fantasy, then I don't think there's anything wrong with watching it.

Recognizing that sex in real life isn't like porn is like recognizing that real fourth graders aren't like the kids in South Park. It's a bit of a no-brainer. And it doesn't mean that South Park is sinful because you then expect your children to be as perceptive as Stan and Kyle and will be disappointed when they are not.

You would think so, but that's really not true, especially for people who don't have sex ed and are told that they're not allowed to have sex before marriage and even thinking or talking about it beforehand is sinful.

So, fundies are caught in a self-fulfilling loop where porn is dangerous only to them because they won't talk about sex? I'm still not buying it.

You think so?  I think the evidence that  sex isn't going to be like porn is right there in the hand.  Look at the screen... now look in the hand... unless 1/3 scale is 'the same', I don't think the poor fellows will have any trouble distinguishing.  (on the other hand, if the chappy is porno-sized, then his chances that real-life will match up somewhat with the on-screen fun is reasonably good).

Just flew over you Bushie (your state, at least) and it seems like you got some snow on the ground. Hope it doesn't deter you from an afternoon walk. Smiley

You may have flown over Northern Oklahoma.  There is no snow in OKC.  We just had rain yesterday and drizzle this morning.  Too warm for snow.

Also, on another note, I weighed myself again this morning and I am sitting at 262.4 which is down roughly 2 pounds from when I last weighed myself.  This was, as always, over a tile floor, so it was not cushioned by the carpet.  That's also the lowest I have weighed in at least a year.

That remains to be seen.  I'm going to the meeting today to keep my name in the hat for the trip.  If I don't go this June it may be 2015 before I get to again.

How can you afford the trip if you're unemployed?!

....

On the other hand, maybe you can get a job in Kenya?

No jobs in Kenya, but loads here in Thailand.  Also the people don't Christianize easily, and he could probably find a girl who would tolerate obesity in return for financial support.

Low skilled hourly jobs are usually very flexible. It's one of the few perks that comes with a crap job. If you want a week off, just give your Big Box Mart manager some notice and he'll fix the schedule for you.

The trip was paid for last May by an anonymous donor.  I just have to come up with the difference in air fare (its more expensive in summer than in spring) and a couple hundred spending money.  Key to this:  I should get a refund on my taxes.

I got out of the mosquitoes office (aka Doctor's laboratory).  They took 4 vials of blood checking for thyroid, diabetes, cholesterol, blood cell count, etc.  They were blood-thirsty.   Smiley
