Statement From The Bloomberg Campaign

We are ecstatic by the Mayor's recent debate performance - having won all three debates, the last one being the most crushing, this campaign has the wind at it's back, and on Election Day, and we believe we will cross the critical 270 Electoral Vote threshold.

America needs a new direction, and Michael Bloomberg and Evan Bayh provide just that. Here at home, they have a plan to balance the budget while putting more Americans back to work and investing in our infrastructure and education. But not only are they the most qualified to put our country on track economically, but they have also shown to be the most prepared on foreign policy, improving our national image while maintaining her strength. Our foreign policy campaign, unlike Governor Dean's, which revolves around the past, saying he was the only major candidate to oppose the Iraq War from the start, our campaign is about the future...it's about ending the war responsibly, standing strong with Israel, and defeating terrorism around the world.

Michael Bloomberg and Evan Bayh are ready to lead this nation, and we hope American's will give them that opportunity on November 4th.

Unfortunately, he did not. Notice was given, but no post went up. The poll was overdue.

October 28th -November 4th starts now!

America votes in one week and one day!
Will we know the President on Election Night? Will McCain be able to recover after a very bad week? Will Dean EV advantadge be enough? Will democrats keep the House and the Senate? Will the House give Bloomberg the Presidency if he gets more votes than Dean? Will Nader win any states, or at least finish 2nd?
We'll know the answer to these questions in just 8 days, stay tuned!

Huge change in polls! Even more tied states!

Where are Johnny and George? Too old to lead the country?
Republican leaders very angry after knowing that their ticket has spent an entire week, only some days before the election, in Northern Mariana Islands, relaxing after what they say has been a "stressful year and a tough campaign".
"Did McCain know he wasn't going to win the debate and realized he can't win the election, or something like that? Because I think he can, he's wrong if he thinks he can't win -just hear what Dick Morris said yesterday on FOX news-. If he doesn't stop travelling and campaigning around the USA these days, he will win" - Senator Jon Kyl (R-AZ).

Bloomberg wins the foreign policy debate (after winning the other two!), keeps improving his performance in polls!
"The question now is: will republicans vote for him as the lesser of two evils? I hope so. And I will" - Rep. Bob Inglis (R-SC).

What's the problem with Patty Murray? Is Dean regretting his decision? Is he scared that Bloomberg may get more than 270 EVs? Is he well-liked among Blue Dogs in the House?
"The VT Governor has been very active in the campaign, he's done a great job, way better than Gore nd Kerry, but he can't win without the help of his team." - Ed Schultz.

"Nader has run a great campaign. Way better than he did in 2000. We decided not to endorse anyone, not to nominate anyone, because we felt socialdemocracy was dead in this country. Well, we were totally off. We feel ashamed right now, we should have endorsed Ralph last year, not one week before the election" - Party for Socialism and Liberation and Socialist Party USA Chairpersons Gloria La Riva (PSL-NM) and Brian Moore (SPUSA-FL). (If I recall, the Peace & Freedom Party has already endorsed Nader. If not, it has now.)
_______________________________________________________

Dean/Murray               32% (-1) 68 EVs
Bloomberg/Bayh         32% (+3) 52 EVs
McCain/Pataki             26% (-3) 73 EVs
Nader/Kucinich             7% (+2)
Undecided                    3% (-1) 345 EVs

[0-4%) lead --> Toss-up (yellow)
[4-6%) lead --> 30% color
[6-10%) lead --> 60% color
[>10%) lead --> 90% color

[Many, many tied states (23!), as you see. But only 10 states can be considered 3-way ties. And some tied states are unwinnable for certain candidates, to be honest, even if they are close 2nd, because one of the candidates has momentum points there which will give him a crucial advantadge on election day.
Strategy decides the election. There are enough winnable tied states which could give one of you, my players, the necessary momentum to win.]

"My fellow Americans, Governor Dean and I are ready to take this country back! For too long, the special interests and the Republican Party - not that those two are mutually exclusive by any means - have been treading on the American people and it's time to stop! A vote for Dean/Murray is a vote to stop all this. A vote for Dean/Murray is a vote for sensible taxation. A vote for Dean/Murray is a vote to end the Iraq War and the Afghanistan War. A vote for Dean/Murray is a vote for health care for every American. A vote for health care is a vote for every American, black, white, Hispanic, gay, straight, men, women, everyone, all across America. A vote for Bloomberg/Bayh is a vote for the status quo, for unequal protection before the law, for failed disaster relief efforts, for not being able to drink a soda, and for a decrease in America's standard of living. My fellow Americans, I say no to that, Senator Clinton says no to that, Governor Dean says no to that, and I hope that today you will all say no to that and yes to Dean/Murray!"

My response? No I won't. Howard Dean keeps trying to tie my economic policies to Bush, despite the fact they are nothing alike. I don't buy it, and most Americans don't either. [/quote]

Kucinich Campaign Schedule Oct.28-Nov.4

"Money in politics has made this election a total fraud, with lies back and forth about what candidates are going to do. I tell you what Nader/Kucinich is going to do, we are going to push viciously a constitutional amendment to get money out of politics. My fellow Americans, it's time we had an honest and decent election. The one Nader and I have been running is one that I hope the rest of the candidates run. We need elections on the Public Dollar, and we need to ban campaign advertising. It's time we got the monied interests out of politics."

"You know, Howard Dean keeps pushing on about how he's for the workers because he's for an increase on the minimum wage. I think that's nonsense, there is no way he is for the workers just because of that. Fact is Dean has governed like a Rockefeller Republican in Vermont and makes no plans to change that as President. Fact is, we don't need an increase on the minimum wage, we need a whole new system. We need a BASIC MINIMUM INCOME! We want people to be able to feed their families. We need an economy based on well fed, well kept individuals, and that's what the basic minimum income does!"

I think we can consider this officially frozen now.

No, it isn't. I'm back again Smiley

I'll have an update for Friday or Saturday. Can you continue the game, McCain?
I can try, although I probably blew any chance I had at winning.

Nader/Kucinich Ad: Green Energy for the America of Tomorrow

"America can't run on fossil fuels for much longer. With that resource running out, and the harm it causes to the enviorment, we need a new way to fuel America. We need... Alternative Energy. The only ticket that truly believes in investing in America is Nader/Kucinich. With solar power, and wind power we can change the way the American economy works and bring in massive job gains.

Any person can take a character and release a schedule as surrogate, if that surrogate has endorsed an independent candidate if you want to help Bloomberg or Nader or if he is a democrat/republican who hasn't in the case you want to help Dean or McCain.
And to be clear, you, candidates, can do what Maxwell did this week: pick a surrogate and post a schedule for him, just like he did with Rocky Anderson.

Good luck!

McCain, Kenny Guinn has already endorsed Bloomberg. I'll read "Jim Gibbons" there Wink

OOC: I know this is asking too much, but is there a chance we could see how Gravel's senate campaign and the congressional third party challengers fared in the election?

Sure, I'm working on it right now. But only Senate and Gubernatorial election results + Kucinich and Matherson.

Buddy Roemer (Nader Surrogate) Campaign Schedule: October 28 - November 4

Corporate influence in Washington is rampant. We've seen how big money can corrupt a man, and nowhere is that more prominent than the frontrunners in this election. We, the people, can change that, though. Ralph Nader has spent all of his life battling corporations in their never-ending pursuit for power, and I urge you to vote for Ralph as I will.

Senate candidate Mike Gravel (Dean Surrogate) Campaign Schedule: October 28th - November 4th

This tour shall serve as a vehicle to promote both the Senate candidacy of Sen. Gravel against Sen. Stevens and the House candidacy of Mayor Begich against Rep. Young, as well as promoting the Presidential candidacy of Gov. Dean. Also featured will be State Senators Hollis French and Johnny Ellis and State Reps. Eric Croft and Ethan Berkowitz. Just assume I've been campaigning on my own behalf before then. Not very many stops per day because of reasons that are best explained by the Discovery Channel show Flying Wild Alaska. Plus, Mike is old.

With the race winding down, I'd like to draw a contrast between myself and Sen. Stevens. I respect Senator Stevens for his long history of public service and dedication to the people of this state, but it's time for him to step aside. One of our priorities should be to keep the Internet free and open - unlimited access to all sites, with you in control of your own Internet usage, a policy in support of free speech. Sen. Stevens on that policy gave a speech, you've heard about it, it's gone viral, about how "the Internet is not a big truck" but is instead a "series of tubes". Sen. Stevens also wants to heavily restrict access to social networking sites from libraries, for whatever reason, including sites like Wikipedia. I stand for environmental protection, reducing America's carbon footprint and fighting against global deforestation, a major cause of greenhouse gases. Sen. Stevens wants to completely clear-cut 2.4 million acres of old growth forest, at a cost of $200,000 to the taxpayer for every job created. I'm confident that Alaska taxpayers can find a lot better ways to spend their money. If you elect me to the Senate, I'll support comprehensive, age-appropriate sex education in order to reduce the number of abortions in this country - the rare part of safe, legal, and rare. But the safe and legal part matters too. Regardless of whether you consider yourself pro-life or pro-choice, I think we can agree, here in Alaska, that we don't want big government stepping in and interfering with anyone's personal decisions. Senator Stevens says that he believes the Earth will soon start to cool. I believe that global climate change is a matter of national security, and would act to reduce carbon emissions through a collective global scientific effort. Now, I'll say it again - I have nothing but respect for Sen. Stevens and his dedication to public service, and the great things he's done for the people of this state. But we have different policy positions now, and after over six terms of dedicated public service, it's time for him to gracefully exit the Senate, enjoy retirement, go fishing instead of staying in Washington all day, but still remain as a major figure in this state.

But it's not just me running. Mayor Begich has already talked about how he's going to change things in the House, and how his record differs from Rep. Young - he wouldn't take bribes from VECO, he wouldn't be one of the most corrupt Congressmen, no random earmarks for little roads in Florida that the local community opposed. You've also got people like Sens. French and Ellis, who are really going to shake things up in Juneau in the Senate, and Rep. Croft and Rep. Berkowitz, who've also already spoken, who'll change things in the other chamber. But there's one race we haven't hit on - President. And for President, the real choice is Howard Dean. We here in Alaska, we didn't like our boys going off to die in a pointless war. And Howard Dean, and I, and Mark, we don't like that either. And Gov. Dean's the one who's going to bring em home, pursue diplomacy to end the civil war, and bring real peace to Iraq. I was one of the leading opponents of the war in Vietnam, and I was one of the first opponents of the war in Iraq, back in 2002. I'm glad that one of the people who joined me early on in opposition was Governor Dean. We've had enough people die. We'e had enough Alaskans no longer have sight, or limbs, or the ability to sleep at night because of PTSD. And we've had enough civilians dying in Iraq too. It's time to end the bloodshed, put that money towards something useful, like providing full funding for our VA system to provide the finest care for those veterans. Vote for someone else, if you want our money to continue to be spent on a pointless war overseas. But if you want that money to be spent on veterans affairs, or clean energy, or improving our public education, or cutting taxes for ordinary Americans, then the clear choice is to vote Democratic.

Ross Perot (Bloomberg Surrogate) Campaign Schedule: October 28th - November 4th

October 28th:
Meet and Greet - Kerriville, Texas
Campaign Rally - San Antonio, Texas
Town Hall Meeting - Austin, Texas

In 1992, we had a winning message. Unfortunately, campaign missteps led many Americans to believe we didn't have a chance, and despite exit polls showing over 35% of Americans wanted me as President, I received half of that.

This time, my friends, it is different. We have a candidate who is serious about tackling the national debt, a candidate with a real plan and a real vision for this country. We don't see eye-to-eye exactly, but he is the only candidate who is serious about putting our nation in fiscal order, and that's crucial to me, and it's crucial to the next generation of Americans. I urge my fellow Texans to join me in electing a real reformer to the White House: Michael Bloomberg!

- Ross Perot, speaking at a rally in San Antonio, Texas

October 29th:
Meet and Greet - College Station, Texas
Meet and Greet - Huntsville, Texas
Campaign Rally - Houston, Texas
Town Hall Meeting - Baytown, Texas

Let me tell you - the economy is the most critical facing us. We're on the brink of economic collapse, and it is crucial that we have a President who can handle the challenges facing our nation.

As Mayor, Michael Bloomberg created a surplus, working with both Republicans and Democrats, implementing conservative and liberal policies. This is the type of leader we need - we don't need another President who sells out to party leadership, like Howard Dean and John McCain would do. Michael Bloomberg won't sell out to the party leaders or to the special interests - he will fight for you!

- Ross Perot, speaking at a rally in Baytown, Texas

October 30th:
Meet and Greet - Boulder City, Nevada
Meet and Greet - Paradise, Nevada
Campaign Rally - Las Vegas, Nevada
Town Hall Meeting - Enterprise, Nevada

Nevada, the polls are showing that we have a winning campaign, and voters are believing our message of hope. In five days, I hope the state of Nevada votes with Michael Bloomberg, and together, we can move this direction back in the right direction!
- Ross Perot, speaking at a rally in Las Vegas, Nevada

October 31st:
Meet and Greet - Greeley, Colorado
Meet and Greet - Loveland, Colorado
Town Hall Meeting - Longmont, Colorado
Town Hall Meeting - Boulder, Colorado

November 1st:
Meet and Greet - Great Falls, Montana
Meet and Greet - Helena, Montana
Town Hall Meeting - Butte, Montana
Meet and Greet - Bozeman, Montana

November 2nd:
Meet and Greet - Saint Cloud, Minnesota
Meet and Greet - Brooklyn Park, Minnesota
Meet and Greet - St. Paul, Minnesota
Campaign Rally - Minneapolis, Minnesota

Our nation is in trillions of dollars in debt, and it's a result of the failed two-party state. In order to change the way our nation is going, we need to change our leaders. Howard Dean and John McCain offer more of the same - Michael Bloomberg offers something different, something new. He offers a new direction, a direction that unites our nation, not divides it. Minnesota, join me in electing Michael Bloomberg to the White House!
- Ross Perot, speaking at a rally in Minneapolis, Minnesota

November 3rd:
Meet and Greet - Eagan, Minnesota
Meet and Greet - Rochester, Minnesota
Town Hall Meeting - Onalaska, Wisconsin
Town Hall Meeting - Madison, Wisconsin

November 4th:
GOTV Rally - Chicago, Illinois

Michael Bloomberg Campaign Schedule: October 28th - November 4th

10:30 AM - Campaign Rally - San Francisco, California
1:30 PM - Early Bird Gets The Worm (Early Voting GOTV Rally) - Oakland, California
4:00 PM - Town Hall Meeting - Concord, California
7:00 PM - Town Hall Meeting - Sacramento, California
9:30 PM - Appearance on California Tonight

Mayor Bloomberg gives a stirring speech in San Francisco, California

California - in a few days, you will have tremendous power. You will have the ability to create change in our nation. We have the power and the ability to fundamentally build and grow America in a positive way for the next four years, rather that continue down the decline we're currently going through. We have the ability to build on a progressive and positive economic platform that will invest our resources here at home to put Americans to work, boosting our economy through empowering small businesses and entrepreneurs across this great country.

Throughout America, citizens are frustrated by Republicans and Democrats who parrot old ideas, yet when they get into power, little is actually done. This upcoming election is about much more than who will be our President, it is about choices and choosing the future of America. The path we are currently on, and some of the paths offered to us in this election, will continue to lead us down a dark path.

I am running for President, not for the title or the prestige, but because I have a truly unique vision for this country, a vision rarely seen in presidential races, and this vision can be achieved with the right leadership and a unified country. Together, we can make a difference. Together, we can move this country forward. God Bless you all!

October 29th: Campaigning with Colin Powell, Gavin Newsom, and Mary Bono Mack
8:00 AM - Breakfast with Supporters - Newburry Park, California
10:00 AM - Meet and Greet - North Valley, California
12:00 PM - Campaign Rally - Los Angelas, California
3:00 PM - Campaign Rally - Long Beach, California
8:30 PM - Campaign Rally - San Diego, California
Flies to Texas

October 30th: Campaigning with Colin Powell and San Antonio Mayor Phil Hardberger
8:00 AM - Meet and Greet - Irving, Texas
10:00 AM - Meet and Greet - Garland, Texas
12:30 PM - Campaign Rally - Dallas, Texas
4:00 PM - Campaign Rally - Fort Worth, Texas
7:30 PM - Appearance on Hannity
8:00 PM - Meeting with GOP Congressional Leaders - Dallas, Texas
Flies to Florida

Mayor Bloomberg speaks at a rally in Dallas, Texas

When President Bush made the decision to enter into Baghdad, I supported the President, as did most Americans, including some of the same Democratic Senators that Governor Dean has asked to campaign for him in this race. Look back, I regret that decision, but I think that it was a much more noble position than Governor Dean, who went around the country in 2003 mocking the President, even going as far as to call for an investigation on whether or not President Bush had prior knowledge that 9/11 would happen. That sort of partisanship isn't the type of President we need - we need a President who will lead us all, and Governor Dean won't do that.

Though I supported it originally, the war has been badly mishandled, as most would agree to. I've outlined a clear plan to immediately begin withdrawing troops from Iraq, and instead focus our attention on Afghanistan, where al Qaeda is growing stronger by the day and Osama Bin Laden continues on. Now is not the time for timid leadership, and it certainly won't be something I'll bring as President! We cannot afford four years of President Dean, and as things have shaped up, I am the only candidate who can prevent him from being elected by the Electoral College or House of Representatives. Texas, if you're as terrified of a President Dean as I am, I humbly ask for your vote on Election Day!

October 31st: Campaigning with Colin Powell and Congressman Canady
8:00 AM - Meet and Greet - Lakeside, Florida
10:00 AM - Campaign Rally - Jacksonville, Florida
1:45 PM - Meet and Greet - Macon, Georgia
4:30 PM - Meet and Greet - Peachtree City, Georgia
6:40 PM - Campaign Rally - Atlanta, Georgia

You know, several months ago, a Mississippi Congressman by the name of Gene Taylor said I was a bad candidate for the South. Yet here we are today, where our internals have us ahead in Arkansas and Florida, tied here in Georgia, and on the verge of an upset in Texas, North Carolina, and Virginia. If elected, I will be a President for every region, every party, every demographic. I'm tired of the partisanship that's been going on in Washington, and I know you are too. We have a real opportunity in this election to ditch the status quo and elect pragmatic, bi-partisan leaders. Georgia, I humbly ask for your support in a couple days - together, we will achieve victory!
- Michael Bloomberg, speaking at a rally in Jacksonville, Florida

November 1st: Campaigning with Colin Powell
8:00 AM - Meet and Greet - High Point, North Carolina
10:30 AM - Campaign Rally - Greensboro, North Carolina
12:30 PM - Campaign Rally - Raleigh, North Carolina
3:00 PM - Meet and Greet - Petersburg, Virginia
7:00 PM - Campaign Rally - Norfolk, Virginia
Flies to Minnesota

Mayor Bloomberg fires up a crowd in Raleigh, North Carolina

Thank you all for being here today! It's great to be here today in this beautiful state - North Carolina has not been given the attention it deserves this election cycle, and I hope that in just a couple days, you will vote for real change in this nation.

As Mayor, I worked with both Republicans and Democrats to balance a budget, using both conservative and liberal ideas. As Mayor, our graduation rates increased, our jobs market improved, and we achieved economic security, something that hasn't been done in many years. The sense of compromise and working together that was used in New York City should be the model for the rest of the nation, and as President, it is exactly the kind of leadership Evan Bayh and I will bring.

I'm not a Republican, nor am I a Democrat. I think both sides have contributed to the mess we are in, largely due to the special interests that have taken over our nation. As President, I will seek to end their presence in Washington by banning them from the chamber. They certainly won't have any sort of impact on my decisions as President - I will only be looking out for the interests of our nation and her people.

November 2nd: Campaigning with Colin Powell and Congressman Kirk
8:00 AM - Meet and Greet - Eden Prairie, Minnesota
10:30 AM - Campaign Rally - Minneapolis, Minnesota
3:00 PM - Campaign Rally - Madison, Wisconsin
5:00 PM - Meet and Greet - Rockford, Illinois
8:00 PM - Campaign Rally - Naperville, Illinois

November 3rd: Campaigning with Colin Powell and Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter
8:00 AM - Meet and Greet - Dayton, Ohio
11:00 AM - Campaign Rally - Columbus, Ohio
2:45 PM - Campaign Rally - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
6:00 PM - Campaign Rally - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
9:15 PM - Campaign Rally - Staten Island, New York

Mayor Bloomberg greets voters in New York City, New York

It's great to be back in New York! It has been a privilege serving as Mayor of New York City, and hopefully, together, we can bring the state of New York into the Bloomberg/Bayh column tomorrow night!

Evan and I have real solutions for this nation. It involves idea's from both parties. Now, Howard Dean calls me spineless for having such a position, but then again, look at his divisive record as DNC Chairman and it should come as a surprise to no one that he chastises someone with a bi-partisan record and moderate positions. Senator Murray, like Governor Dean, is just spreading attacks that may sound good on soundbites, but simply aren't true. We won't be a continuation of the last eight years, not in the slightest. A Bloomberg-Bayh administration will seek to create fair tax rates, understanding that the rich can pay a little more, as well as bring a close to the Iraq war and cutting all of the wasteful, pork spending in Washington. In doing so, we're not only going to balance the budget, but we're going to be able to invest more in creating a better opportunity for Americans with better jobs and an improved education system.

We've come a long ways, and tomorrow night, the American people make the final say. I'm the only candidate who has campaigned in every state, and I've campaigned to every demographic. As President, I won't seek to please a party or a region - I'll be the President for all of America. I humbly ask for your support tomorrow - together, we can heal our nation! Thank you, and God Bless!

November 4th:
8:00 AM - Meet and Greet - New York City, New York
10:00 AM - Speaking to Volunteers at Campaign Headquarters - New York City, New York
12:00 PM - Vote - New York City, New York
1:00 PM - Assist in GOTV Efforts - New York City, New York
5:00 PM - Arrive at Madison Square Gardens to Watch Results - New York City, New York
