Obviously these aren't the only people prominent at Waterloo, but Wellington (fairly or unfairly) took most of the credit for the victory instead of the Prussians.

The Brits won it. The Prussians just came in at the end to claim the glory.

Fraid not. More like the other way round. Basically, Britain fought the battle and the Prussians turned up at the end to steal some of the glory.

Waterloo was too late in the day to change anything.  In any sense that mattered, Napoleon had already lost by that point.  If Napoleon had won at Waterloo, he'd have lost somewhere else.

Turn back the clock to 1812, and you could've had a scenario leading to Emperor-for-life Napoleon leading a cowed and complacent Europe.

Yeah, I was amused at all the talk of healthcare 'reform' as being Obama's Waterloo... I mean, it might have been his Moscow or his Leipzig, but...

The average American might know one battle from the Napoleonic wars.

Most, I think, know Waterloo.

Considering the British burned Copenhagen, I as an revendgeful 25% Dane, would probably be on Emperor Napoleon's side.

Given that the Napoleonic Wars seem to be taught quite a bit, I'd think there's a decent chance that Austerlitz or Leipzig are also fairly well known nowadays.
