I've received a request to post this.  After receiving an anonymous tip, we reviewed several accounts as possible socks.  The results confirmed that the following users are using proxies not affiliated with any legitimate proxy software:

Electric Feel (now banned as a confirmed sock)
geraldford76 (Jensen, The Last Moderate)
Angry Mob (segwaystyle2012)
Silent Spade (silent_spade07)
Vane
true liberty
RooseveltRepublican

I've been told that this may impact the results of an Atlasia election, so I'm posting it here.

In addition, Vane and true liberty share an IP address.

We'll be looking for more of these over time, but I would strongly suggest Atlasia work on some legislation requiring that those using proxies post at least once from a real IP address (even if it's a public library) to verify they aren't lying about their geography (and aren't socks.)

I think it's too late to challenge the results, but this clearly affected the outcome of some recent elections, notably the NE Senate race.

This isn't surprising, but sadly, some of the names on that list are taken seriously by a good number of people here. I feel bad for Barnes right now.

I must say that certain names on that list disappoint me greatly. Sad

Agreed. No one should be surprised at some of these. We've known segway uses illegal proxies for a while. The rest are not shocking either. The fact that we have that many votes who are socks are deciding elections is alarming.

Now correct me if I'm wrong (and I'm sure I will be...wrong or not), but don't most of these come from the same party?  If true, how could people with any integrity stay with such an organization?

All of them come from the same party, actually. Sigh. And so it goes...

That's much worse than "zombie voting". That's an obvious fraud and a violation of "one man, one vote".

Sorry for Barnes, who at least have real votes.

Sorry for Winston, who don't have a real mandate.

Also, Libertas is posting from the IP address of an illicit mail server used to relay spam.

I still would have won even if there weren't proxies. At the most, it would have been a 16-16 draw, if you decide to exclude BOTH their votes.

Now please stop slandering me.

No, I'm talking to Kalwejt, bgwah and other posters who are claiming that I didn't win fairly.

There goes half the opposition to the factionalization of the Liberty Caucus, at least.

Of course, there also goes half its membership.

Depends what you mean by "fair".

At any rate...until someone can confirm that those accounts are controlled by someone else, meaning an account registered in Atlasia, there's nothing that can be done about it. Proxie voting is not illegal at the present time, and voter fraud would need to be proven to do anything about it.

True... who are the proxies of segway and silent spade? I certainly wouldn't have thought they would do it.

I'm not saying you knew about this or that you cheated.

But given the number of suspicious accounts, it certainly puts the true results of the NE Senate race into question.

Give the narrownes of the race, looks like you was elected by fake users.

I didn't said you cheated, but cheats of others helped you. See difference?

I've counted my votes and even if you were to take away the four posters who voted and have been implicated in this, it would been down to a 16-16. Hardly a clear win. And what's more, I doubt all of them actually use proxies.

Why? I just doubt the rot is that far embedded - segway and silent_spade certainly don't seem like the sort of people who would use proxies given their actual contributions to Atlasia.

Silent_spade seems legitimate, but segway is almost certainly a sock, IMO.
