does anyone even know why we have FDR on the dime in the first place?

Yes, because of the March of Dimes, as was said earlier.

It's funny because it was mentioned like two posts up with a link and the guy gave an impression of wanting to look knowledgeable.

It's hard to define exactly but it would have been a lot less fun if he had stated the reason instead of asking people if they knew.

You have to read it in the context of the whole thread for it to be funny.

I've got a hunch that the Atlas members have a ton that is just going to waste.

Click thread for context.

Almost any Chief Justice that runs for President now is just an idiot. It really doesnt make sense also. He would have to resign his position before even forming an exploratory committee. Take a chance at the nomination, and going in the general election to become President for 4 or 8 years, when someone like Roberts could stay Chief Justice for the next few decades.

In his case, he could be there for the next 40 years...which is a frightening thought.

Roberts isn't that bad. I admire him for his opposition to abortion (and gay marriage).

Do you ever stop talking about abortion?

Yes.

That was a rhetorical question.

All right guys, I think it's time to notify local authorities that some teabagger has kidnapped/killed cinyc and poses like as him in the Atlas forum.

I have ALWAYS been more conservative and partisan Republican than your typical blue avatar poster.  Perhaps a little less hard-line "progressive" and partisan than your typical red avatar poster - but a rabid partisan nonetheless.  I make no apologies for that.

Someone has to give the other side of the story, lest this forum end up being one big "progressive" self-appreciation circle.

"other side of the story" ≠ lies Mitch McConnell/Fox News told you

Obviously "Shutter Island" is based on cinyc's life.

Ruffini used to post on the old forum, I think.

When you break it down, Ruffini is just Naso with a more widespread readership.

I'm too much of a troll for the Atlas' most banned poster.  Give me an award.  A gold one.  A really expensive gold one.  Like the really expensive gold spoon that was in my mouth when I was born.  Yeah that's right, feck silver.

I build my own desktops, and until my latest build (a couple of months ago)

Sweet.  I've always wanted to build my own desktop but either havent had the funds or the time to really sit around and get it right.  What are the specs of the tower you built most recently?

He builds his to give you an electric shock if you google search porn, then the computer says "God will smite you sinner".

My point is McVeigh's friends were murdered by our government for NO reason at all and that can trigger some troubling emotions for someone.

Leaving aside your disturbing "NO reason at all" comment for a moment, could you please describe the relationship between the Waco residents and McVeigh, exactly?  You described them as "friends".

Of course. McVeigh was one of the 9 ppl who escaped from Waco the day that their home was burnt down.

Ah, so when facts appear to working against you, make up new ones!

I heard Barack Obamas birth certificate was created in Waco.

It would be nice if we could get some actual women out there lurking watching this discussion care to share their thoughts on how to make our site more welcoming towards them.  As of now, we're just shooting in the dark.
No no no please carry on.

I'm the Media Director for the Alexander Snitker for Senate campaign.  Alex's message of Constitutionally-limited government and individual liberty is starting to get attention from the mainstream media.

Right now, http://www.snitker2010.com is getting more traffic than the official sites of Rubio, Crist, and Meek according to Alexa Internet, Inc., the metrics subsidiary of Amazon.com

He also placed second behind Rubio in the Orlando Tea Party straw poll in February.  While there's no doubt he's a long shot, he is a viable candidate.

And in response to the above post:

I don't know if there's a metric better guaranteed to overstate a Libertarian's chances than web traffic. Ownership of Dragonlance novels, maybe?

As I prefer this site as family/school friendly, I would ask that the more explicit/suggestive sexual photos not be used in signatures.  If you would feel embarrassed by a forum page while reading it in the library (or anywhere public), please send me a pm and I'll ask that the sig be changed.

Thanks,
Dave

Yes, that's good Dave is not visiting forum community for example Wink

Here's my shot at it:

"In the wake of a fourth horrific attack on Chinese schoolchildren – this time by a crazed man who on Friday beet five toddlers with a hammer, then set himself on fire with two other children in his arms – the shocked and bruised nation was of two distinctly different minds.

On the Internet and the newspapers, people agonized whether in their tightly regimented society, a boiling cauldron of change with no pressure valve was blowing its lid.
In the halls of government, however, the emphasis was on preventing the steam from escaping at all."
pardon?

I rephrased it.  I thought that's what you meant.  Did you want us to read it out loud for you?  Because if so, someone else will have to, I don't have a microphone at the moment.

Sorry to disappoint but she's not as attractive as she may appear (Bradley Effect).

Do you want your children going to school with things like that? I didn't think so.

God Bless Arizona.
