What a completely stable genius. But Biden is 3 years older and occasionally his tongue tied so he's obviously the senile one.

There should probably just be a Trump Indictments megathread at this point.

He's facing seven different trials (three civil, four criminal for a total 84 felonies) between now and November 2024. We should probably have a megathread for each one. A single thread would make discussion impossible.

He definitely meant to use a different, similar sounding final word.

"You start out in 1954 by saying, ‘Rigger, rigger, rigger’. By 1968 you can’t say ‘Rigger’—that hurts you. Backfires. So you say stuff like ballot harvesting, Dominion Voting Systems and all that stuff."

And don't forget  'international standards '.

Looks like RUDY G is gonna walk from the charges

https://www.yahoo.com/news/rudy-giuliani-claims-scientific-evidence-151225444.html

Quote
Rudy Giuliani claims he has new “scientific evidence” of fraud to prove his innocence

Former Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani claimed on Sunday that he has "scientific evidence" to support his debunked claims about election fraud in Georgia. A caller to Giuliani's WABC radio show asked the former New York City mayor how he plans to defend himself against racketeering and other charges handed up by a Fulton County grand jury last week in a segment flagged by Raw Story.

"The first thing is, I don't think I'm giving anything away, I'm just going to tell you my strategy. I'm going to follow Mark Meadows and file as soon as I do the arraignment, I'm going to file a motion for removal to federal court, which I would say almost virtually will be granted," Giuliani claimed, even though Meadows' motion is based on the fact that he was a federal official and Giuliani had no formal government role. Legal experts have expressed skepticism that Meadows, much less Giuliani, will be able to remove the case to federal court. Giuliani then vowed to prove the baseless fraud claims. "There are things we didn't present then [in 2020] because over the next couple of years, a lot of people did a lot of work and have been able to produce more witnesses and what I would call scientific evidence that is very persuasive," he said.

Two months? Wow wasn't expecting Willis to ask for a Oct 2023 trial. Everyone was expecting March 2023 at the earliest she would even ask

She did initially, but Chesebro forced her to ask for an earlier date by requesting a speedy trial.

Calling it now. They'll probably retract their demand for speedy trial and seek continuances. I would be shocked  if trial goes forward in 2 months for any of the defendants

I assume he was trying to look tough in that shot, but it just comes across disgruntled.

Do we have an OFFICIAL booking report yet? One without provisional height and weight numbers?

They're very unlikely to change that. Height is usually measured behind the booking photo but isn't in this case, and at least Trump is in fact about six three. But they don't have a scale there like at a doctor's office to confirm and they're not about to change it or challenge it unless some defendant reports something that is vastly obviously different by magnitudes. Though admittedly Trump's typical understatement of his weight here comes close.

I need all the merch. All of it. I want a mugshot shirt to go with my mugshot hat and my mugshot wristwatch and my mugshot mug

Don't forget the mugshot yoga pants.  You gotta have sleepwear!

I cringe at the thought of where on the yoga pants the mugshot would be placed

That angry looking mugshot is not going to gain him any sympathy. That's a screw up.

It'll be interesting to see how each side interprets the pic.  He looks defeated and worn out to me.

I actually wonder if Trump even would do well in a debate these days as he may not be able to think that quick on his feet anymore . If that is the case then attending the debate would result in a massive pile on against him and really smash the idea that he’s “alpha”.

This. The accusations of Biden being mentally incompetent and losing it because of his age have been 110% projection. Trump is the one who is literally unwinding at the seams

This is one of the funniest photos in our country’s history

Rather frightening that it's come to this, though.

Yes, whether one likes Trump or hates him, it's a sad day for the U.S. that a former President has been reduced to this.  (But it would be even sadder if a former President was NOT held accountable for such actions.)

This couldn't have been stated better.

Does anyone - including blue avatars - really believe this man is 215 lbs?

215 lbs at 6'3" is legitimately athletic territory.

Yeh here's literally no way in hell he's less than 260. He remains incredibly vain and a world-class liar.

I wouldn't be surprised if he was close to 300, maybe even tipping it. Even his well tailored suits can't hide his obesity

The first former US President, to have a mug shot ... and one that the world is seeing in astonishment.
Wow.

Even more astonishing? Despite that, he STILL remains the Republican FrontRunner by far.

Well, to that crowd  I'm sure the two of them looked exactly alike, because to them "they all look the same".

The comparison between Trump and Dr. King could not be more tasteless-especially given Georgia's history. One was arrested protesting for civil/voting rights, the other for getting caught red-handed in attempting to subvert the will of Georgia's voters.

Of course would have unquestionally come primarily on the backs of George's black voters having ballots tossed out, same as it ever was.

Both sides are obviously equally at fault for the ongoing rancor and extremism in our country.

In which case a sitting president will be unable to visit certain states or else he will be arrested.

He'd probably specifically go to Fulton just to dare Willis to order his arrest. It would be, at best, a standoff between the secret service and the Fulton County PD.

Which is why it's so important to not only incarcerate Trump before the election (if he is found guilty), but to also make sure that he loses the election.

The former no, but the latter a million times yes if we elect Trump and permit him fundamentally destroy the rule of law in this country.

Ed Meese?? THAT Ed Meese. Holy heck was it surprising to look up that he's even still alive, let alone engaging in even nominal legal practice at age 91.

Powell is a little fish. They gave her an easy out in exchange for testimony against bigger fish. This happens all the time in conspiracy/racketeering trials. It’s not difficult to understand.

Is Powell really little fish though? Besides Trump, Rudy, and Meadows - Powell is probably the most recognizable person in the 19-defendant case, and she was one of the biggest faces of the "election denial" movement

Per usual, you are looking at Trump's cases through the lens of electoral campaigning and the media, not the law,  in trying to claim she's one of the so-called big fish. Of the 18 indicted codefendants Sidney Powell was very much in the middle of the pack in terms of the number of indicted counts against them. Given the amount of testimony she could offer as Trump's former lawyer against both him and probably every other co-defendant, letting her plead to half a dozen misdemeanor counts seems like a pretty good deal for the prosecution. Not, as you superficially allege, an indication that the case is falling apart.

I for one welcome redban's (likely temporary) return to the forum, as his consistently laughing stock level posts offer great amusement.

Here's a new twist: one of the defendants, Harrison Floyd, plans to prove in court that Trump actually won the 2020 election in Georgia.

"LOL" is the only response I can muster to that.

Total grab the popcorn moment.

Wonder if they will call fuzzy bear as an expert witness about how the election wasn't held in accordance with " International standards".

These civil trials are hilarious, wasn't OJ supposed to pay over 30 million, and he didn't give the family a dime?

So very on brand for you to be rooting for the bad guy. Grow up child.

I imagine a former judge like Wade would be quite an expensive lawyer, so the $250 doesn't sound all that ridiculous. And Wade has been practicing law for over 20 years so you'd presume he'd be quite wealthy.

The optics suck but it's hard for me to buy the "Wade was billing the county and using the proceeds to go on cruises with Willis" when he's a partner at a prestigious law firm and probably a millionaire.

250 an hour with those kind of credentials is entirely reasonable. But the hours he's been billing, unless this has been some very sloppy bill into cover the work of multiple Associates working with him on the project- which absolutely should have been denoted in the billing as well - is out and out fraud
