Great post - except that Tweed cannot in any circumstance be described as "thoughtful".

Cats are evil, vile creatures.  Why stop with the claws?

Anyway, on a more serious note, support, as long as they're domesticated cats that are going to be living in homes and yards.

Did one refuse your advances?

You guys are mean. Why can't we just be happy for our good friend BRTD's achievement?

Your usage of the words 'our' and 'achievement' are grossly misplaced.

The non-fascists who don't secretly/openly want people like me dead.
The idea that there are such people anywhere in the world... yeah, that's a delusion you'd better lose quickly.

McConnell has yet to buy the election.

Not a McConnell fan, I take it?

I don't mind him, I'm just realistic that his money machine will literally nuke Grimes.

He is literally going to drop a nuclear bomb on her? Like actually drop a physical bomb? Will she be in Kentucky at the time? Wouldn't that hurt Mitch with the electorate?

He could have just been using the Google definition of literally.

I was using the Google definition, yep.

People who use this definition of literally should be figuratively shot.

Can we stop tossing around the word 'racist' like its a sorority girl on halloween

"To complain about people pointing out racism, I think I'm gonna use a misogynist metaphor. Yeah, that'll show 'em."

I don't know. Ernst Thalmann is an important historical figure for Germany, not a failed troll at some obscure forum.

Sorry bandit but politicians should leave science up to the scientists

Psychiatry is not a science. It's discredited babble.

Just because it obviously didn't help you?

Syntax mistake?  Granted, one really should not give the Cangjie inputs for a Chinese character in place of the actual character.  Also when Cangjie is represented it usually is done in capital letters, i.e., FYCK and not fyck.  Still I wouldn't call using 烄 there a syntax mistake.  Perhaps a ridiculous attempt to avoid the swear filter.  After all, one doesn't need to substitute a Chinese character meaning "religious fire" for "Hell" since the swear filter doesn't filter out that word.

I'm pretty sure it should be "IDK what the fyck you are doing here".

If the sentence begins with "I don't know", then it is indicative. What follows is a subordinate proposition and therefore shouldn't use the interrogative mode. At least that's what I thought...

So you resent him because he lived a life of privilege and then sought to make life better for average Americans... like your grandmother eating her ravioli among a crowd of her apartment mates....

The circles you run yourself around to come to the conclusions you do is frightening.

You're right, we should have let Gaddaffi literally drop bombs on his people because they were peacefully protesting. Sure, tens of thousands of civilians would have been slaughtered, but at least things would be stable.

I'm sure the family in question will be comforted by the fact that they've not "broken up". Everyday misery is small price to pay.

Splendid. Our country needs more right thinking people such as yourself, bluedogsam. My suggestion is that, despite your handle, you must run for office in this great state as a tea party Republican. The higher the office the better. And keep talking about your views on women, this thinking badly needs airing. Truly yours

Ah yes... The day when a total failure was re-elected President because a bunch of upper-middle class fops, handwringers and pansies couldn't hack it that the challenger was supposedly engaged in a 'war on wermerns'.

People who that's sulfurous need to go back and retake high school Chemistry.

Makes sense, since I stopped Chemistry in 10th grade. Tongue

It sounds like he's making fun of old white conservatives who portray their views as "conventional" or mainstream views despite the fact that they're a shrinking, ideologically extremist portion of the country?

Except "old white conservative who portrays his views as "conventional" or mainstream views despite the fact that they're a shrinking, ideologically extremist portion of the country" is a pretty good description of Richard Cohen.

Richard Cohen is an unrepentant HP and I can't believe he's still working.

He's a racist, a rape apologist, a sexual creep, a Roman Polanski supporter, and all-in-all a terrible journalist.

He seems alright to me and other conservatives. What do you have to say to that?

That you and everyone who thinks like you is also an HP?

Seriously, did you think I'd say "OH WELL IF BARFBAG LIKES HIM HE MUST BE AN OK GUY"

No I thought I'd rub it in that you're not unanimous in your thinking. Not everyone thinks like you.

Oh wow you really showed me. Here I am saying it's bad to be racist and to defend pedophilia, but you've shown me that I need to accept different viewpoints.

And of course the Obamabots rush to defend their messiah's Heritage Foundation plan. Obamacare is an utter joke, an insult to advocates of actual health care reform (i.e. nationalization) and I hope it fails. The neoliberal cancer needs to be exterminated, even if cutting it off may hurt.

The casual sociopathy of sheltered rich kids who'll never have to worry about losing their health insurance.

This mind-numbingly stupid notion that incremental progress is somehow worse than status quo because it might weaken the call for more radical action is one of the most detestable ideological legacies of orthodox marxism, and has been proven wrong thousands of times in history.

One would think that no half-serious "progressive" would still believe this crap, but apparently there is nothing more resilient than this kind of pseudo-radical bullsh*t.

Thank you guys for reminding me why I'm not a True Leftist, and never will.

So you're spouting recreational outrage at those spouting recreational outrage AND at those mocking the initial recreational outrage?
