These types of comments make no sense. You're living in your own bubble if you don't think people are fed up and have had enough with the lack of any type of common sense gun control - and the objectively terrible way Abbott has handled his free for all gun issues for years. It's not just "Austin" who is upset and glad that somebody finally spoke up and called him out on the issue.

The country has overall moved pretty significantly to the right on the issue of guns in the past few decades. And exploiting people’s deaths for a political stunt plays pretty poorly nearly everywhere in Texas.

See how the background checks ballot initiative did in Maine or Nevada in 2016 (two pro gun states like Texas…. but also much bluer than Texas, especially Maine).

I am pro-gun but implying the country is for the status quo is not true. Between 80%-95% of Americans consistently support background checks.

Maine has a long history of voting against out-of-state funded initiatives.

All I can confirm anecdotally is that in Collin County, which is pretty-much one of the top 5 most important counties for Beto to win, he has 3 new votes since 2018 in my family alone and plenty more among my friend group.

What about anecdotal lawn signs?

I've never been Beto's biggest fan but I don't think anyone can claim that he doesn't know how to run a great campaign, particularly when he hits his stride when he's being well-received. Putting the doomed Presidential campaign aside I can't deny the mans authenticity and if he weren't in a state as toxic as Texas politically then he'd definitely already be a Senator or Governor.

Well I think Abbott is also being Cruz-ified now that he's chosen to not remain silent and under the radar like in 2018.

Got an ad from Greg Abbott. He talked about how he waited tables and said that hard work was important. He said he would invest in education, the energy future of Texas, and keep taxes low to help families.

Alright folks, here’s a question for y’all because I’m curious to know what y’all think.

What are some counties that you think Abbott will win but Paxton will lose? For me, the only one that comes to mind is the aforementioned Williamson County.

I mean we don't really have that clear AG polling, do we? Paxton will underperform Abbott, sure, but the county differences really depend on how much they both get (i.e. 7%/10% vs 12%/15%)
