Harris' Wikipedia page has been updated 408 times within the past three weeks, similar to Tim Kaine's right before he was announced.

I cant post the link, but The Intercept (I know...), has an article listing the # of edits to various VP prospects' wiki pages. Harris - 408, Abrams - 66, Warren - 22, Klobuchar - 4.

The democratic ticket will NOT be two white septuagenarians. Not in 2020

Elizabeth Warren is too old and too white. For the ticket to comprise them both, after the most diverse primary field in history...not happening.

If he wants to go the Hillary route and (foolishly) bank on the support of Black Americans just because he was O's VP,  then so be it. But representation matters. Hillary learned that the hard way with reduced AfAm support after choosing milquetoast Tim Kaine of all people.

Has anyone taken into account the looks of the potential vp? Sexism undeniably had an impact on 2016, and will again this year. Who looks the best next to Biden on stage/campaign material etc. Harris, then Whitmer for me.

Obama called Harris the best looking AG in the country, then had to (understandably) apologize.

Harris must really think she's got this. Just watch this and then read the comments. Really looks like she's had a lot of superficial (i.e. dermabrasion/skin bleaching/Botox) and structural (lift) work done over the past 2 weeks (either that or somebody at MSNBC really snatched up her makeup like she was a suburban mom). Everything on her face save for her nose is in a different place now.

On the other hand, maybe MSNBC just did her dirty in their web cut? The one posted to her channel looks a lot different/more "normal" (though noticing here that the bulk of her "upsnatched" look really appeared in the first 30 seconds of the MSNBC highlight, which the exact portion cut out of the Harris-uploaded version). And it's not just overexposure/saturation/resolution in the Al tweeted vid: even looking at the same second of clip across each vid almost looks like two separate videos.

Did you just accuse a black woman of bleaching her skin? 😐

Biden's team is not leaking anything. It seems like most articles just cite Democratic insiders and not anyone specifically associated with the search.

That actually speaks for him. Campaigns and admins with tons of leaks usually have problems and a poor work culture. Loyal staffers usually don't leak. If Biden wins, his WH will be a very sharp contrast to the Drumpf Admin. Some would call it a "fine tuned machine".

That is actually why I don't think he will pick Harris, her team was a leak machine in the primaries and a lot of it was quite ugly.

https://www.nytimes.com/2019/11/29/us/politics/kamala-harris-2020.html

If Duckworth can convince Biden she is up to the job, there is very little downside in picking her. Average people don't care if she is polished at giving speeches, they like someone authentic.
She overhauled her team after her campaign ended. Next

Is this code for not Warren?

He knows Warren's "socialist" background would hurt his campaign, so another white male putting himself ahead of a woman possibly having a great opportunity. Classic neoliberalism.

I think it's more code for 'pick a AA women who can give me better turnout in the Belt and Charlotte' rather than any ideological opposition - he lacks the position to argue this point.

Demings is the pick for this. Hard to argue against her helping the most in Florida, NC and GA. An actual southern African-American instead of one from SF (Harris) or DC (Rice).

Regional identity’s affect on voting is negligible, this isn’t 1824 when people never left the family farm and deeply identified with their state

No but Demings might appeal to rural blacks in places where turnout dropped post-Obama.
Based on what, exactly? Since you seem to know alot about what "rural blacks" find appealing.

Funny how the "Kamala is a COP!!!" crew have all but disappeared, when there's a LITERAL former Chief of Police in the mix and she's met with Silence...even praise.

Well that’s not really accurate, I’ve been louder about “Demings is a literal cop” than I ever was about Harris. All in all Harris isn’t a bad pick per say. My problem with her is I don’t think her/her team would be loyal like Biden was and would constantly be trying to get a leg-up for 2024. That’s why I’d prefer someone like Bass or Warren who could reasonably step down and allow an open primary next cycle.
The first female vp isnt going to "step down" just so there's an open primary. Bass and Warren are politicians. And politicians love power. PeriodT.

Kamala has been in elected office longer Warren and the same amount of time as Karen Bass, so you can't claim that Kamala is not a "politician" wanting power
Where did I say she wasnt?!

Make no mistake, I am all in favour of the VP running in 2024. No matter who she is.

Bass won't comment on whether she's been interviewed or vetted, also says she doesn't plan to run for president in 2024, even if she's sitting VP:

Biden doesn't need someone like Warren or Harris who will steal the show but he needs a better succession plan than Bass.
By virtue of  being the first female vp, with a high chance of becoming President, Biden is going to be outshone regardless.
