According to that poll, Harris’ support comes overwhelmingly from the affluent, those making $150,000+. Warren’s support is more working class and poor. Adds credence to the whole “latte liberal base” that Harris has.

Yeah, lower income voters preferring Warren while high earners prefer Harris stuck out to me too, given that lower income voters are also more likely to be Black/minority voters. How much more data will it take to prove that the group of voters that Biden would apparently be appeasing by selecting a Black woman prefers a white woman?

He's been using Warren's campaign slogans again. If it turns out she wasn't even on the shortlist, I'm going to be so angry.

Biden has been using this slogan throughout the campaign.

One of the earliest "Biden has dementia" gaffes was when he mixed up this monologue and said "we choose truth over facts" at one of his rallies.

It is worth noting that Sean McElwee is a Warren surrogate and that a Warren vice presidency would undoubtedly advance his own career. Please apply some salt to that poll before consuming.

Any word on what the timetable looks like? I imagine we'd know by August 1st, which is less than two weeks away

Harris's support in that poll is most definitely not just from the 150K+ crowd. But not surprised that a couple people in here continually hate on Harris time after time after time. It's getting exhausting

Harris's support in that poll is most definitely not just from the 150K+ crowd. But not surprised that a couple people in here continually hate on Harris time after time after time. It's getting exhausting

In what world is posting a poll that shows lower income voters tend to prefer Warren while high earners tend to prefer Harris equivalent to saying that Harris' support is "just from the 150K+ crowd"?

And nobody said that Harris' support is "just from the 150K+ crowd," because you're right: that's not what the poll says! Here's the relevant quote:

Quote
But there are significant differences in voter profiles. "Most of Senator Warren's support comes from voters in households that earn under $60,000, less than the median income," says John Ray, Senior Political Analyst of YouGov, which conducted the poll for Data for Progress. (The median household income for 2018 as reported by the U.S. Census Bureau was $63,179.) "Most of Senator Harris's support," Ray says, "comes from voters with a family income of more than $70,000, above the median family income."

The poll further shows that 18 percent of Independent voters from households earning less than $30,000 say Senator Warren is their first choice for vice president.  In contrast, 5 percent of those with household income of under $30,000 name Senator Harris as their first choice. Senator Harris receives 26 percent support, or a five times higher rate of support among voters in households that earn more than $150,000 a year.

So please explain to us how posting this poll & discussing what it says is somehow "hating on her"?

This was the poll result: ""Most of Senator Harris's support," Ray says, "comes from voters with a family income of more than $70,000, above the median family income.""

Beto's comment: "According to that poll, Harris’ support comes overwhelmingly from the affluent, those making $150,000+. Warren’s support is more working class and poor. Adds credence to the whole “latte liberal base” that Harris has."

But it's fine. People in this thread for some reason are obsessed with finding whatever they can to discredit this woman. Not sure why she invites such hate from people. And it's not even like you're neutral and you'd be fine with her, it seems people have a vitriol for her for some reason.

It appears that we likely won't get anything until very close to the convention, at least from what I've been seeing/reading

Meanwhile, for whatever reason, at least temporarily, Susan Rice is surging on the betting markets, and Duckworth is sinking. Not sure why Rice is so high

The only thing more exhausting than the Anti-Harris vitriol is the Anti Anti-Harris vitriol

I'd suggest knowing what you're talking about before you speak out of turn, because if you did, then you'd know based on my post history within this 150+ page thread that she's literally my 2nd choice smh.

And here I thought, "if you're not with me, then you're my enemy," was just a cringey prequel quote.

August 1st was the original deadline that Biden publicly mentioned, but he's since already suggested that deadline will likely slip. I probably wouldn't expect the pick to be named until the few days before the DNC, which would be a more traditional time to name the pick & would avoid giving Trump an extra target in the intervening weeks.

Probably. I imagine it won't be KLB because she's on the DNC platform drafting committee.

Demmings really disappeared from the conversation during the last couple of weeks.

That's because there has developed a 'one or the other' narrative regarding the two, despite both candidates attempts to break the narrative an establish unique brands. When Harris's stock falls, Demmings's rises and vice versa.

There's no hard deadline of August 1.

I'm sure the focus will be on the Senate & House to pass a new stimulus package in the next week or two. That should be the priority as it's crazy they're waiting to the last possible moment.

https://wnyt.com/politics/biden-says-hes-getting-briefings-from-lawyers-on-vp-options/5800688/?cat=661

Quote
Democrat Joe Biden said Monday that he is getting extensive briefings from lawyers vetting candidates for vice president and plans to have "personal discussions" with his final choices for running mate.

The presumptive presidential nominee said on MSNBC's "The ReidOut" that he is getting a "two-hour vetting report" on his VP contenders. He said they've gone through "about four candidates" so far.

He said once the vetting is done, he will narrow the list and then have a conversation with each of the remaining candidates before making his decision.

Biden's team is not leaking anything. It seems like most articles just cite Democratic insiders and not anyone specifically associated with the search.

That actually speaks for him. Campaigns and admins with tons of leaks usually have problems and a poor work culture. Loyal staffers usually don't leak. If Biden wins, his WH will be a very sharp contrast to the Drumpf Admin. Some would call it a "fine tuned machine".
