I don't think it will be easy at all for Democrats to win this seat. Trump is favored to win the state again, and Kyrsten Sinema only won by a 2.4% margin while winning 12% of Republicans. Lean R to start.

To me, his endorsement of Pat Toomey is disqualifying. Here's to hoping Gallego runs.

On second thought, maybe Gallego shouldn't run. It would be too big a risk for him, and for the party, since the main reason McSally lost the first time was because she had a competitive primary, whereas Sinema had only token opposition. Had McSally been unopposed in the R primary, the GOP could have held the seat.

That said, I'm still not too keen on the idea of Kelly being the nominee.

I wouldn't be surprised if Gallego doesn't run.

If OH Predictive Insights found McSally up by high single digits in 2018, and now only by 2 points ahead of Mark Kelly, she's probably several points behind in actuality.

I really hope Gallego doesn't run now. Kelly is a stronger candidate.

Mark Kelly needs to win the primary, and Gallego needs to drop out soon after announcing. I don't want 17 months of a bruising primary that will only help McSally.

Any indication as to how McSally may vote on Trump's removal?

There's no question she'll vote to keep him in.

She is a politician.

She is trying to appeal to Trumpists.

She is a horrible candidate.

I really believe that Ducey appointed her as a sabotage, so when she loses to Mark Kelly in November, he runs for the Senate seat in 2022 or he tries to mold one of his confidantes to run.

She is DefSec material, not legislative material.

At first I thought this was just a crazy conspiracy theory. But it doesn't seem so far-fetched anymore. Just keep in mind that the R base is the only hope she has.

Remember when she was considered such a strong candidate in 2017?
