I hope you shared the materials from the dietitian with your mom.....if she doesn't change how she cooks for you, just toss the papers in the fire pit.

Honestly she doesn't sound like a very good dietician. She likes the idea that he's trying to reduce his soda intake?! Just tell him to stop drinking non-diet soda, jesus christ it's not that hard, both taste like fizzy syrup water.

Yeah. I mean, how is it that hard to switch to diet? We've been talking about it for like 2 years and he's still drinking regular soda. Sure, it doesn't taste exactly like regular, but its close enough. He could lose 15 pounds simply by cutting out all that needless sugar but he has absolutely no self discipline.

Also, she recommends light lunches and big dinners? That's the opposite of what I usually do. Bigger lunches give you more time to burn off what you eat. But I do agree protein in the morning is a good thing. Just don't eat tons of fatty foods like sausage and bacon, which we know he'll do.

I have switched to diet, again, primarily.  I may still have a regular pop 2-3 times a week, but the vast majority of the time, it is Diet Dr. Pepper.  My refrigerator is void of all regular pop.

It is hilarious that everyone thinks that because I had 3 hot dogs last night that I threw everything I was told earlier in the day out the window for good.  That is absolutely hilarious.  We've got a lot of comedians here. Smiley

I'm not going to follow all of her advice as she wants me to stay within 1500-1800 calories.  That is just not going to happen.  I can do 2000-2250, but I refuse to starve myself and I refuse to constantly be hungry and not be able to enjoy meal time.  She also thinks I should only have 3 oz of meat per day (the size of a smart phone).  I'm sorry, but that's only 2-3 bites.  Not going to happen.  If I want a steak, I'm going to have a steak.  Not every day, naturally, but once in a while, I will indulge in a steak.

You won't follow a professional's advice, and you won't walk.

This is what 3 oz of fish, 3 oz of beef, and 3 oz of chicken looks like:

That's still a good amount for a meal.

Accompanied by a salad and/or a veggie, even one serving of white rice (1/2 cup, 160 calories) along with these sized meat/fish portions should make you comfortable.

Bushie will consume about 2000 calories for dinner between sloppy joes and buns/bread. That doesn't count desert or soda.  That plus another 750 he's consumed today already. Yeah.

Grumps, I checked the nutrition labels for both the Manwich Sloppy Joe Mix plus the Wheat Buns plus one handful of chips and I can get out of this meal with only ~700 calories, that's with 3 sandwiches.  That would put me at 1200-1300 calories on the day.

Feel free to be delusional all you want.  You used up the dietician's daily limit on dinner.

I checked the nutrition labels and it was probably a little over 1,000 calories all told, but I still ended the day below my 2,000 goal.  I ended up around 1,800.  I'm tracking it on another app that tracks my calories.

Those apps are fine but at least don't lie to yourself about your portion sizes. You don't eat a 'cup' of anything....or a 'serving' of anything.....you eat several, easy.

I still lost 2 pounds as a result of the 4 sloppy joes.

No, that's not how it works.

Forget it.  You'll never convince him.  He's going to lose weight gorging on Mexican tonight because the beans make him sh**t a lot.  Get with it, Mr. Kemp.

I'm waiting for Joe to change his username to Sloppy Joe Republic to honor Bushie's new diet plan.  Wink

Dry toast, oatmeal made with water: 400-500 calories.

With toppings, sweeteners, etc.: 700-800 calories.

Factor in another 1000 calories for lunch at the zoo. Doesn't leave much space for dinner calories.

How does one eat a spoonful of ramen? It comes in a brick that you boil and then eat. It's not a spoon food.

She cooked a couple bricks for the kids and served it to them as a side in a pot.  I just took a spoonful.

what a horrible supper.

Be more sensitive. With 6 kids she can't afford more than hot dogs ramen and spaghetti.

Yeah, professors don't just hang out in their office doing nothing all day waiting to talk to people who don't even go to their school. You need to make an appointment or go during their office hours.

If I don't find them tomorrow, then that will do one of two things. It will give me their office hours for later, or more likely solidify my decision for the vo-tech.

How on earth does that make any sense? Why wouldn't you just call/e-mail them for their office hours? You are wasting so much time/gas/money pointlessly and making big decisions based on totally arbitrary measures.

The schools website has a direct phone number for all faculty including adjuncts. He could have easily called or emailed to make an appointment instead of some random chance bullsh**t.

Bushie gets his answers within 10 minutes of being on campus.  $175+ wasted.  They would have told him the same thing on the phone.  God bless his sister-in-law.  FF

Who did you actually speak to Bushie and for how long? It sounds like this lasted all of five minutes.

He probably went to some secretariat/office and talked to the person at the desk for 2 minutes.

Right.  You can't have a meaningful conversation about education/career/future, etc. in 5 minutes.

TexasIndy is now bashing Bushie on facebook. It seems that Bushie's sister-in-law has opened the flood gates.

Ouch.

Yeah Bushie's trolling us now (or always).....he probably lost 5 from water.  No real weight loss will ever occur.  That is all.
