Oatmeal is great. I usually eat eggs or drink a protein shake in the mornings though. Not a lot of fiber but protein is most important in the mornings.

I also recommend you eat your larger meals earlier in the day and not snack all day and load up at dinner, since all you will do is go to sleep/sit around until bed.

Yeah, eggs are good too. Frying up two eggs (or boiling them) and eating that with some whole wheat toast is a lot more tasty and satisfying than a bowl of cereal IMO. It might have a hundred or so more calories, but it has a ton of fiber and protein that will keep you feeling full much longer.

Grumps, I checked the nutrition labels for both the Manwich Sloppy Joe Mix plus the Wheat Buns plus one handful of chips and I can get out of this meal with only ~700 calories, that's with 3 sandwiches.  That would put me at 1200-1300 calories on the day.

Correction:  I ended up this meal closer to 1,200 calories.  So, altogether for the day, I've had around 1,800 calories.  I don't plan to have anything else the rest of the night.

I mean, that's fine, but look what you ate. Fatty red meat, bread, potato chips. It also depends what type of meat you're using. It sounds a bit suspect that 3 sloppy joes, chips is only 700 calories. The 3 buns are the worst. Even though they're wheat, that's a ton of carbs, and carbs turn to sugar, spike your insulin levels and tell your body to store fat.

Cereal/general food tip: if it's white, it's not good for you.

He's also doing himself no favors by having his heaviest meal at dinner. I'm not trying to be overly critical, but if he wants to lose weight I'm going to offer my advice even though I know it'll be ignored, because his mom cooks for him and he is beholden to her schedule and eating wishes. Tongue

Also, Bushie has a smart phone, right? Atkins has decent free app.  It does a "daily plan" with new meals every day and recipes for breakfast, lunch, snack, and dinner.  That might be a way to go.

It could also help his parents get healthier recipes.

Also, you should buy some baby carrots and salad mix at the store.  Stir fry mixes are fairly cheap and have good variety, too.  Good for you if you're under 2000 calories, but if you get hungry late at night its better to have a big stock up of vegetables to snack on than get tempted to eat anything else.

Good Thursday Evening!  I had another wonderful evening putting the kids to bed.  I will be going over there again tomorrow evening, staying the night with them, going to the Zoo Saturday Morning, playing with them Saturday Afternoon, then going to the Airport to pick up their daddy and delivering their daddy back to them in one piece!  I'll be home by 12:30 Sunday Morning and then get up and get ready for Sunday Morning Worship!!  It's going to be a great end to the week. I'm guessing that you didn't do well on the capitalization chapter in your elementary English class?

Or, that it's been ~25 years!  I've slept since then and I've gotten fat since then. Tongue

Also, I wasn't really trying with capitalization!

Do you doubt Bushie's existence? I don't find his story all that difficult to believe.

He's lied many times.  He's admitted to many lies, usually after he's called out on something.  There are presumably other lies that he's never admitted to, because he wasn't caught.  So yeah, I'm sure some of what he says is true and some isn't.  Not worth trying to sort out what goes into which category.

He lies to make himself look better. AFAIK, he has never been caught in a lying to make himself look worse, which is pretty remarkable when you stop and consider all the foolishness over the years. I feel pretty confident in the validity of his obesity, chronic unemployment, time oriented neuroses, and so on. By far, the biggest hole in his story is financial. He's no doubt injured his parents far, far more than he's let on.

Especially since they live in a mobile home. I don't know many who are well off living in mobile homes. I don't know anyone living in mobile homes period, but what's beside the point.

Also, did anyone else giggle when he called the kids father their daddy instead of addressing him like another man would address him? It's like he doesn't even think he's an adult himself.

Yeah, for as much as he "knows" about severe weather, it's pretty odd that he was willing to defraud his parents for porn for years (among the other ways that he's defrauded them).  With all he's scammed out of them, who knows, they might be able to live somewhere that's not a death trap during severe storms.
