Per CNN: Trump indicates that he doesn’t have a victory speech or concession speech prepared.

As if he sticks to the script either way, lmao.

50% of voters chose coronavirus, racial issues and health care policy as their priorities. Not bad for Dems

Bad for Trump.

By the way, these voters will be the first who will be laid off in a Biden recession.

Or in a Trump recession.

There won't be a Trump recessions, partly because Trump is going to lose. But you can bet on a Biden recession.

There already is a Trump recession

It is not a Trump recession. It is a Biden recession.
Had Trump been re-elected, the economy would have rebounded like never before.

Lmao, it's a Trump recession because he screwed it up. Canada and Europe are doing better because they have competent leaders mostly.

Imagine going through the last four years and saying "Yeah, we want another four of this sh!t". America is doomed, even if Biden ekes it finally out. Trump should have been rejected by an epic margin.

Why are Biden and Lujan underperforming in New Mexico? Colorado has voted to the left in both races. That's kinda weird.

So if Joe pulls ahead in Wisconsin, he needs just one more if we add Arizona (not called on NYT, but a given) and Nevada. That gets him up to 254. Pennsylvania, Michigan or Georgia would put him over the top.

If everything other than North Carolina goes Biden's way, it will actually be 306-232 all over again, in reverse. Praise said poster(s) who asked this in last few days. One of them was jfern, I guess. I'd give him credit, but let's not take it for granted. Uncle Joe still has one more state to flip to take 270.

Morning, all.

Fell asleep on the couch and was just woken up by my roommate -- up early to study for a clinical -- thinking aloud that Arizona better not "(expletive) us in the (expletive)".

I...guess it's nice she's paying attention?

PQG, there is a chance you could get what you wanted: Biden with a Republican senate.

Even if Biden wins WI and MI, it seems PA and NV are lost causes.

As I see it, Clark County in Nevada has only 75% counted, while most rurals are almost done. I'd be surprised if it goes to Trump. But the underperformance among Hispanics needs closer examination in the months to come, even if Joe pulls it out. It's definitely not satisfying.

Pennsylvania has still over a million ballots to be counted. Also, if Wisconsin goes blue, Michigan or Georgia would be enough to get Uncle Joe over the finishline.

Florida is really the shocker of the night. I mean, I could have seen Trump winning it, but not by this much. Especially Miami-Dade. I wonder whether Bernie would have lost the county? If he was the nominee, he would have gotten destroyed in the state, even if he won the election as a whole.

I think what the election also reveals is the deep polarization by looking at Safe States. Trump improved in Indiana and Missouri so far, Biden in California, Washington and New Jersey. He's still under 60% in New York, but I expect that to change. Especially Erie County should go blue.

Think Biden won’t have any problem winning NV and AZ. Very confident about MI and WI as well. Don’t see much of a chance for Trump anymore.

But it will still be a weak mandate, with the senate staying Republican. That's very disappointing, especially after polls got our hopes high for a landslide and trifecta.

Biden is at 50.1% of the popular vote and with a fair amount out on the solid blue West Coast, he could easily clear 51%.

Further evidence the Electoral College must be abolished. It has shifted against Democrats even more so than in the Dubya era. Obama's 51-47% win over Romney translated into 332 Electoral votes. This time, Joe Biden is probably not getting 300. Heck, he could still lose with this.

Especially when you say in 2024, Kamala improves in Arizona and Georgia, but loses support in the Midwest. Then she could easily win by five or more and still fall short of 270. That's undemocratic.

Interesting that in Germany, even right populists of the AfD criticize Trump for his premature call.

When was the last time there was Democratic President, Republican Senate and Democratic House?

Not that I recall of. Other than Dubya 2001-2003, presidents have often controlled the senate, but not the House when they had just one chamber. Kinda funny this was the case at the beginning of House of Cards. I always dismissed it as unlikely a president would have the House, but not senate.

Joe Biden has now surpassed 70 million votes at the New York Times. Most votes in history! He has to be president now. Anything else would be a disaster for democracy, when you can literally win over 50% and still not get there.

Still kinda worried about Pennsylvania. Georgia would be so great, if he could just get over 300 electoral votes. But I take anything that is a Biden/Harris win right now.

Also, Trump is again showing his hostility towards democracy and that he does not value the voters whose ballots were not counted yet. If he was true partriot, he'd let things play out and concede without a fight if this isn't going his way. In 2000, Al Gore took a bullet for the country by conceding, despite having reasons to contest the results. Heck, even Nixon in 1960 conceded for the greater good.

Why does it matter if Biden wins?   He's going to be a do nothing lame duck with an R Senate and a 6-3 Supreme court.

Because Trump is an evil POS who deserves to be thrown out of office and looked into his legal conduct?

Also, Executive Orders are still a thing. It may sound naive, but Republicans in the senate and Biden must sit together and get at least some stuff done on criminal justice, infrastructure and economic recovery. Otherwise, frustration with the system will further increase and get the next populist in office. And this time, it may be someone who is smarter than Trump.

Returns from PA look very promising for Biden. If this doesn’t change, neither NV nor AZ matters.

Hitting at least 290 or even 300 would be great, though. The more, the less likely it is Trump can pull some dirty tricks. Of course, he should have lost with the 413 map, but we have to take what we can get now.

If the election goes Biden's way and is declared even by Fox News, if Mitch and senate Republicans have backbone, they should tell Trump the game is over and he has to concede. But they're not Barry Goldwater and Howard Baker, maybe besides the usual suspects as Mitt. However, if Trump loses, Mitch owes nothing to him any longer. Maybe he is once doing the right thing.

Let's say that Biden ends up winning 2016 + MI/WI/PA + AZ + GA, would this still be considered an underwhelming victory?

Somewhat, but not a nailbaiter. I'm curious what the popular vote margin will be in the end. I guess similar to 2012.

Biden being at almost 67% in MA is a pretty amazing result.

Over 65% in California, over 60% in Washington state and Maryland 63%.
