Latest news:

I shouldn’t have to say this, but obviously Ukraine is not about to start an offensive against the breakaways with a massive Russian army on their border ready to invade. What would possibly be the point of this if Russia was bluffing? Mass evacuations are a hideously disruptive and expensive thing to do, especially if it goes on for any length of time.

Well, I don't believe there actually will be a mass evacuation. But it seems like Putin raises the stakes>>

"Unsuccessful", huh? If Putin wanted to make it look at least somewhat credible he should have been willing to sacrifice that pawn. Effort: 4/10.

There's something about the sheer cartoonish amateurism that is almost impressive, in a through the looking glass sort of way.

This is lining up with my original guess, that Putin will wait until next Monday to launch the attack in order to keep Xi happy.

I can't imagine being stupid enough to believe that Ukraine would invade Donetsk when there are 190,000 Russian troops right across the border. Ukraine carried out no major offensives for 8 years, but they choose to attack at the one time when there are hundreds of thousands of troops on the border? Yeah, ok.

I wonder what percentage of Russians actually believe this crude propaganda. It really does not seem worth the effort to me.

I read that a poll found just 4% of Russians think the current escalation is Putin's fault. Obviously not a surprise, as there's pretty much no free press and propaganda in State TV all day long.

This propaganda is messy and poor.

In any case I feel for the people, who at the first victims of Putin's aggression.

Looks like those feisty Ukrainians are about to rip Putin a new a-hole... Russia should better withdraw from the border while they have the chance. Tongue

Biden just said in his press conference that he believes Putin has made the decision to invade.

Then the Russians may well do the opposite. They can't prove Biden right, can they?

Putin isn't quite that big of a troll.
