The old thread was nearly 800 posts under the limit! Let's not start lowering standards before we find ourselves with Update Season XLVII. Reopen the old one, please.

Our resident Ethiopian warrior has a point here.

No, I'd prefer not to meet up with a pedophile from the internet in a foreign country, thank you.

The real travesty is that people think banning a poster needs constitutional justification or something. Who cares?

^ Yeah, Donald Trump would go easy on Bernie Sanders.

No, Bernie is just the only candidate who can credibly take him up on the populist anti-establishment message.

Indeed. Trump is better positioned to take on a conventional politician with a lot baggage like Hillary, especially among blue collar voters.

There's some evidence that, just like Trump, he has cross-cutting appeal. Hillary would just be a generic D and could be vulnerable to populist attacks.

No there isn't. He has Obama's youth base but without the blacks and latinos. He has angry young white liberals. Just like McGovern. It will carry him nowhere.

Not necessarily. Primary base is not the same as GE base. We've seen this in two last elections.

Rockefeller was literally the worst. I love the "he's a FF because he was a LIBERAL REPUBLICAN" logic.

The guy should be hated across the spectrum, literal filth. Massively corrupt for one.

And that's pretty ironic coming from a 40-years old man, whose main occupation seems to be trolling the 2016 board.

There are far worse places and reasons for 40-year olds to be trolling 12-year olds.

I guess we should he happy Landslide Lyndon haven't sunk to such depths as yet.

Lol @ people upset that we aren't discussing policy in a GOP Presidential primary. Ted Cruz having sex with rodents is a million times more likely than him coming up with a policy that makes the remotest amounts of sense.

It's amazing that so many people seems to believe Ted Cruz and Donald Trump ale talking about actual political issues.

I still not buying it. Women tend to be more intelligent.
Hence why few come on here.

Can we all just relax and wait for the actual results?

That's not possible on Atlas. It's like asking a dog to do quantum physics.

Allocating delegates by CD is an idiotic idea to begin with considering how badly we get screwed by GOP gerrymanders. No need to validate them through our primary process.

I see marriage equality as settled law. I don't like it, but there's no point in fighting it anymore. I don't think clerks should be forced to hand out ssm licenses against their religious beliefs though, and that is worth legislating.

Government is supposed to be independent of specific religions. If they don't want to hand out SSM marriage licenses, they should stop complaining and get another job.

Not really. It's just that if you think the Sanders campaign is mainly driven by racism against Hillary Clinton, then you're dead wrong. For one thing, actual racists would tend to hate Sanders more than Clinton.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oklahoma_Democratic_primary,_2016

They didn't vote for Sanders. They voted against Hillary (who, ironically, carried the state handily in 2008), since she's running as Obama's continuation. Those very same people aren't going to back Sanders in November if he's the nominee.

Also, OK primary voters hardly constitutes "Sanders campaign".

That's literally my entire point.

That hardly means "Sanders campaign is mainly driven by racism".

Those token racists that voted in the Democratic primaries will back a Republican (or some fuitcake far right third party candidate) in November anyway.  They would never really support a Jewish socialist nor a woman that served in the Black President's cabinet.

The point is that Sanders won Clinton '08 areas and Clinton won Obama '08 areas in Oklahoma this year. It advances a thesis that alienated, white conservadems support Sanders over Clinton. Maybe it's not that widespread of a phenomenon, but it is interesting to contemplate. I know a number of conservative males who prefer Sanders over Hillary for obvious reasons, but those are also guys that wouldn't have voted Democratic anyway. Nevertheless, for a low information voter, especially male, who sees Clinton as associated with the Obama administration, voting against her and for someone that they hear wants to stick it to the big banks isn't an entirely implausible phenomenon. Recall that in 2008 it was Obama who was coming for your guns and your religion, so they said; this year, it's Hillary.

Naturally and I've been aknowledging this phenomenon ever since this year's Oklahoma primary (seriously, the Panhandle went from supporting Hillary in 2008, to Randall freaking Terry in 2012 and now Sanders). All I mean is that the whole "Sanders campaign is racist" is just as dumb as saying that Hillary's 2008 campaign was "racist".
