Seeing how fast the Clinton smear machine has started up against him, the dismissal of so many on here of Webb and his chances is definitely too hasty.
I wouldn't say that. Part of the "Clinton Appeal" is that their so ruthless in elections. They're not just gonna completely ignore potential competition.

LMFAO. Do you really think the Clintons have nothing better to do than dredge up dirt on a guy that can't crack 1% in the polls?

Besides, even if they were behind it, isn't vetting candidates...you know...a good thing? It's not like this was made up out of thin air. Better it come up during the primary than in the general.

Is it too much to ask for a modicum of fact or any assertion based in reality for all the smears of Hillary in the thread?

This is why I'm ambivalent of Hillary's chances, ice spear. When it comes to her, the Avalanche of sheer loathing unhinged from any sense of reality is just too great. She might as well be a Martian from outer space. How can we, or anyone, argue against pure emotion? It's physically impossible. Opening up people's brains and changing their emotions is generally considered a gross violation of human rights, even if it were possible. It doesn't matter what the polls say. She'll be shot by some deranged assassin before she can be elected to anything (in 2007 he campaign was the only one subjected to an actual gunpoint hostage situation, which everyone has conveniently forgotten about.) She shouldn't run. She should probably commit suicide, but if she wants to spend the rest of her life looking after her grandchild I wouldn't blame her either. But there's no reason to invite the flames of loathing. Warren, Webb, Biden,  Sandes, and all the rest of the jokers are all worthless as well. Mr. Mordens right - Klobuchar would be as good a candidate as any of them.

Don't worry about it, Hillary will be fine. She nearly won in 2008 despite facing much heavier headwinds than she does now. The bad comments about her on the internet now are practically a walk in the park compared to all the invective that was hurled at her in 2007-2008 (as you're well aware of Tongue). As for the irrational hatred for her from certain people...

The one Democrat that was really a working class Democrat, is pretty much discredited. The Democratic primary is gonna go left and the real contenders will be either Clinton or O Malley or Biden.

THAT'S, that.

It's one thing to be hated, it's another thing to be hated at a level impervious to all logic or persuasion. The former makes leading exceedingly difficult, the latter makes it impossible. All the tools campaigns have - ads, rallies, debates, canvassing - are all forms of persuasion. If that isn't working, even the most flawlessly run campaign is helpless. I'm saying she's going to be physically prevented from winning, by crook or hook. It's not going to be acceptable. Everything we do on this forum, all human communication, is based on the shared assumptions of language.
