We could always just give the CDC a couple more million to get some solutions going.

CDC reports no new cases since last update, 110 individuals being screened in the meantime

Seems like the authorities have this under control, we can all calm down.

Commerce secretary: China virus could bring jobs back to US
Quote
Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross suggested Thursday that the viral outbreak in China might offer an unexpected benefit for the U.S. economy: It could encourage American manufacturers in China to return to the United States.

“I think it will help to accelerate the return of jobs to North America. Some to U.S., probably some to Mexico as well,’’ Ross told Fox Business Network.

Not sure if this belongs in the dOW thread or here, but:

This does absolutely nothing to fight coronavirus but okay.
It’s probably from the Federal Reserve slashing interest rates by like .5%

McDonald's hourly workers in U.S. demand paid sick leave as virus spreads
Quote
The burger chain has not trained or given any guidelines on the epidemic, McDonald's cooks and cashiers associated with labor group Fight for $15 and a Union said in an email statement here

Maurilia Arellanes, a McDonald’s worker in California, said on a media call organized by the labor group that she cannot afford to take a day off if she is sick.

“McDonald’s needs to step up and do everything it can to make sure workers like me are safe and that if we do get sick, we can take time off to get better without falling behind on our bills,” she said.

U.S. health insurers to waive some fees, extend coronavirus coverage, Pence says
Quote
The number of cases of the highly contagious respiratory illness caused by the virus has risen steadily in the United States this week, stoking concerns of a health and economic crisis that could pummel workers and companies.

“We want the American people to know that they are covered with private insurance, they are covered with Medicare and Medicaid,” Pence said at a White House meeting with health executives, referring to the government-funded programs for Americans over age 65 and the poor.

If the hundreds of negligent, preventable deaths from Maria didn’t do him in, this will soon pass as a negative footnote come election season. It’s clear that those who would vote for him will just handwave this to blame minorities or the deep state instead of realize he is at fault.
