DOGEBOMB

no freaking way.  more than half of these thugs are literally voting to object to Biden's clear win.

You'd need a majority of the House to impeach and 2/3 of the Senate (66 for now) to convict. Not implausible.

Who would be the Republican senators to get to that number though?

Let's start with Romney, Murkowski, Collins.

Hell let's say McConnell, Sasse, Toomey, Capito, Thune, the Georgia Senators for the hell of it...

That still leaves like 8 senators needed.

The house only needs a 50%+1 majority. Senate Republicans are pissed, he cost them their majority and then endangered their lives to preserve himself.

They endangered our lives to preserve him. F them all.

A majority of House Republicans have now voted for the objection.

The party of fascism.

I think McConnell can whip up the votes. Especially those who just won re-election and no longer worry about appeasing Trump.

I honestly don’t give af whether they throw him out now or some time in the next 14 days.  Today was unacceptable and it’s time for change whether I like that change or not.  I went from feeling distraught about the GA results yesterday to not giving a single **** in a matter of 12 hours.  Good job Trump!

Well it does look like there's some weakening of the GOP numbers in the house.  They're definitely not going to get anywhere near two thirds.

I want to say that if Republican party leaders are smart, they would remove Trump via impeachment to permanently keep him from screwing with the party anymore, but the fact is, the GOP base has completely lost their sanity and removing the person they worship more than God himself would probably hurt the party noticeably more than just letting him continue taking a wrecking ball to the country for 2 more weeks.

Let's face facts here, Trump didn't storm the Capitol himself, his ignorant horde of supporters did, because Trump encouraged them and spent >2 months claiming without proof that the election was "stolen" from him, and virtually the entire Republican Party base believed him, with, again, zero proof whatsoever, and tried to violently end the electoral vote certification based on this.

If Republicans want to fix their party, they should burn it to the ground and start from scratch.

I was watching FOX News all day, and they were being fair and somewhat critical of Trump.  I actually feel that they are the least biased of the Big 3 cable networks during the daytime. But, then, primetime comes and Tucker Carlson comes on...

Start voting for Democrats.  That’s your only option.
But we're the heathen baby killers.

If we were to renominate Trump or something like that, I would probably go Independent.  But, I am still quite conservative and, for now, view it best to try to be one more Republican voice looking to move past Trumpism.

In other words you'll keep enabling the party that has been actively undermining democracy for five years, and will continue to do so, all in the name of conservatism maintaining power.

Someone here needs Jesus all right.

I don't even know who the Democratic defector could be after Van Drew jumped ship, Peterson lost, etc. Mistake seems easily the most likely explanation.

Has this "senior advisor" resigned yet? Otherwise I don't care what they have to say.

Hopefully said senior advisor is working to organize the cabinet members and pins together for a vote on the 25th Amendment

If Republicans want to fix their party, they should burn it to the ground and start from scratch.

Burning it to the ground, which is certainly the move at this point, IS impeaching Donald Trump and IS what would hurt the party the least, even in the short term.
