You can grade these years using any metric you like, and if you haven't voted in the previous thread, you still can. You can also change your vote, if you'd like.

Gee, I wonder how people will grade this year... I can't give it an F on principle, since my wedding ceremony was this year, but yeah, pretty much everything else about this year was awful, no explanation needed. I guess I'll go with D.

Can’t give 2020 a F on principle either since I wasn’t hospitalized for COVID, didn’t lose any relatives or friends to the disease, and Dems still won a trifecta despite general R overperformance relative to my Doomer expectations. Among Us and paying off my car were 2 silver linings amidst all the other crap that went down.

For me, a B+. I was pretty happy during most of this year. I was never quarantined, I had a job with hazard pay where I collectively made more money than I ever had before (or since), got a new car, and had a good girl. What more could a man want.

I voted B overall. Was baptized and married in that year, which really helped offset the pandemic and the lockdowns. Would have voted F without those events.

Probably about B.
Note that I'm not accounting for world problems like COVID19, I'm just considering what happened to me that year, and this year was pretty good in some ways - especially the first four or five months - except I didn't get to meet family in India Sad

lmao, setting aside Trump's electoral defeat, this is probably the worst year on a worldwide scale in at least a generation, and that might qualify as an understatement.

F-, catastrophically bad, 60 days in hospitals, a death sentence pronounced, stress, hiring and firing doctors and hospitals, a partner in utter panic, and a body that became as old as my age. The music in short stopped. And if I did not go into a mean, SOB mode to fight back, and pull the situation out of the nose dive it was in, plan B was suicide. But plan B is now on hold. Now the battle is to fight the flab, given I burn far fewer calories now. God how I miss the gym. Will it ever be safe for me to go back while still on this mortal coil? I hope so, but I sometimes wonder. At some point I have to make the decision as to when I accept just getting covid, and break the surly bonds of self imprisonment, given the risk reward ratio. I cannot continue the way I have lived for 2 years, indefinitely.

I am not complaining though. Life has it highs and lows, and the challenge is to manage them with some wisdom attended by compassion. And I have my pack to worry about, both of whom depend on me.

Easily F if I had friends that aren't online, but since I was ahead of the curve, D, I guess.

Had my Bar Mitzvah in January, so lots of money there. Had to cancel a lot of travel I was looking forward to, which was unfortunate. Although, as an introvert, online school was kinda nice.

Baseball season was suspended and then cancelled, didn't feel safe anyway since our practice field was...

A red precinct

DUN DUN DUN

The reduction in exercise coupled with more social media use (wanna develop an eating disorder and feel broke despite not being anywhere close to that? sign up for Instagram today) made me feel fat. Eventually got everything under control and down to a more manageable 5'10'' and 120 lbs. Mental Health was also sh**t, but sure CraneHusband, I don't have any life experience.

Anyway, I'd been lurking on and off on Atlas since around the 2016 elections, and I finally started spending more time here.

Grandmother also got hospitalized for septic shock, bill was like $900,000 without insurance.

D on balance.

Overall I'd give

Concur with Xing. My personal life was largely OK outside of the pandemic but events outside of it are impossible to ignore. B personally, F outside of that, D in total.

It'd be a pretty easy F if I hadn't managed to get into one of my top-choice master's programs, which kind of saved the year for me. But still D+, and that's being generous. I guess the first two weeks of January were pretty good.

D, but obviously Social Distancing is a wake up call to not get so intimate with strangers you don't know as well as we wear masks so that we won't cough on one another.
A positive thing about social distancing smoking gas been banned in restaurants and alot of places, people were blowing smoke in your face and coughing on you

There is a silver lining, but we also were tested for YB before COVID which is a bacteria infection, COVID is gonna be with us for a long time no end in site, so Rs thinking that if Rs get in no mask mandate, the CDC was invented under Trump not Biden

Very easy to see why most of the forum is giving it an F.

Certainly if I lived in America (or worse, Victoria) I'd probably give it an F.

Yet the period before COVID blew up was genuinely pretty great for me, being able to go to Europe for the first time in my life amongst other things.

At least we got a lengthy period out of lockdown. But for much of the winter it wasn't particularly fun, with the days starting to feel the same.

We at least got an OK month or so where restrictions were winding down and I reconnected with my social circle comfortably. But overall the year wasn't good for the world. C-, and that's generous.

D+

Not because of COVID directly...under normal circumstances, I would've been quite fine.

But because the lockdown forced me into contact with a manipulative and very non common-sense sociopath and cut me off from church. I was constantly being gaslit and forced to max out my card....all while trying to collect on a debt. I was trying to graduate so I couldn't go anywhere too much either and I had to test for certification. If Texas law were like NJ law, I would've pressed charges for stalking.

I ended up so broke I was forced to return to my parents where I did nothing but apply for jobs and overwork a gig job. A whole Summer gone.

The only reason it wasn't an F was because the months before were actually a lot of fun, and I landed my current job.

Stressful.
The pandemic, swamped at work (grocery store), left my toxic friendship after putting up with his bs for  long enough, spent most of the year questioning my sexuality.

On the bright side, I did discover some guys who play video games for charity. Saved my year from being an F.

A-, the beginning of the pandemic was kinda fun, it was the easiest semester I've ever had (we had 2 assignments per class per week for 9 weeks, but we only had to do 10/18) which left me a lot of time to do other stuff including finding this forum.

The weather was nice that spring and I took a lot of walks. Taylor Swift released two albums.
