Does anybody have a list regarding the different rules surrounding mail in voting in the different states. I am mainly thinking of the following:

1) Which states count mail in ballots on election night and which only count them later?

2) Which states allow for ballots stamped on election night as opposed to those that only allow for those ballots which are received on election day or before?

Trump's Intel Chief Ends Election Security Briefings To Congress

The nation’s top intelligence official has informed Congress that his office will no longer give in-person election security briefings on Capitol Hill, a move that raised concern among lawmakers Saturday about the public’s right to know about foreign interference in the upcoming presidential election.

President Donald Trump said National Intelligence Director John Ratcliffe made the decision because the administration “got tired” of intelligence about election security leaking from Congress.

“They leaked the information ... and what’s even worse, they leaked the wrong information and we got tired of it,” Trump told reporters while attending a briefing on Hurricane Laura in Orange, Texas. He didn’t offer details to support his statement.

Any reaction from congressional Republicans, or are they cool with this?

I don't like this. It seems to suggest that the SC will generally side with republicans in their generalized efforts to suppress the vote. And what effects will this have in other more important states?

On the other hand, it also seems to suggest that Roberts and Kavanaugh will not outright just toss ballots, which I guess is some kind of comfort for the inevitable post-election judicial battles. Disappointed in Gorsuch though, it's been known that Thomas and Alito are partisan hacks, but had hoped that Gorsuch was more sensible.

67k D votes minus 33k R votes is 34k votes, and some of them will vote in person, so perhaps a net loss of 20k votes, that's unlikely to be decisive.

If Biden actually does win TX, it is likely to be by a razor thin margin given the polling there.

Indeed. Romney has proven that he is an honorable Republican.

It actually could be important that Romney made this statement in the situation where MI/WI/PA submit competing slates of electors. When the electoral votes are counted on Jan. 6, if both the House and Senate can agree on which electors are valid, then those are counted. Dems have 48 Senators in the next Senate. Romney is 49. I'm not sure how the Georgia seats work in this calculation with the runoff elections happening the previous day, let's assume Loeffler is still sitting and Purdue's seat is vacant. Then Dems need just one more senator, probably Collins or Murkowski, to side with them, and this would basically guarantee that the "state legislature coup" would fail.

I think there's a small chance Collins is salty after Democrats spent so much money against her, but I have a hard time seeing Lisa Murkowski not voting with the Democrats in this case, especially if American Democracy is at stake.

I know we like to dump on Susan Collins and for good reason. But remember that the reason why we dump on her is because we basically KNOW that SHE KNOWS that Trump is a disaster, so we roll our eyes when she says stuff like "he's learned his lesson" to avoid voting for impeachment.

But Susan Collins is not voting for a coup.

Well, there's never really been much doubt that to the extent that illegal voting or other voting shenanigans takes place, it is almost certainly mainly done by republicans. Republicans are simply better at playing dirty than democrats and it has been that way for a very long time.
