The conservatives on the WI Supreme Court are absolute garbage.  Aren't they the same ones that stopped the lockdowns in the state which made WI a covid hotspot?  Their dissents are ridiculous, saying this will smear democracy.  No actually, these frivolous lawsuits are smearing democracy.  The Republican Party is literal trash with almost no exceptions.

What exactly happens if Trump keeps filing lawsuits past December 8? Do the ascertainments of electors still fall under safe harbor as long as they're not rescinded?

The way things are going he'll still be filing lawsuits after Biden is inaugurated. And of course every court will continue to clear their schedule for him.

All the lawsuits get dismissed for mootness.

Yep and Hagerdorn split on that too, unfortunately that was back when it had a 5-2 majority. Although I doubt even the conservatives would've given Trump what he wanted. The dissent sounds like they wanted the case brought to a lower court which would no doubt rule against Trump and then they could just uphold the decision claiming they were just adhering to the suggestion of the better informed lower Court.

Side note: the fact that the Wisconsin Supreme Court is 6-1 female is the perfect counter example to those stupid second wave feminist tropes about how putting women in positions of power is all that's needed to fix the world's problems, as if we needed any more after Sarah Palin, Michele Bachmann, Kristi Noem, et al. It's admittedly a mostly dead horse trope now thanks to them but you'd be surprised at how much I heard it pushed on DU, some people there even said the Constitution should mandate all Senate delegations be split one male/one female Norman, believed that would actually have prevented the Iraq War and other awful Bush policies.

You know your argument is crap when even the Wisconsin State Supreme Court won't hear your case.

This court basically has 3 Justice Alitos, 3 Justice Sotomayors and one Justice Roberts.  The election in April that flipped a seat R->D was almost surely decisive for the outcome of this case.

My understanding is that Justice Hagedorn is far more conservative than Roberts. I've heard the best comparisons are to Scalia and / or rehnquist. Only with three far right-wing whack jobs on that Court could he ever be considered a swing Justice

More revealing than the headline, or that #DiaperDon's campaign/administration has been using liaisons as commissars,  is that the campaign/administration is threatening their own political appointees to keep them from fleeing.

Trump aide banned from Justice after trying to get case info
Quote
The Trump administration has been working to have liaisons report directly to the White House instead of the agencies where they work. Across the administration, there have been concerns that the liaisons were undercutting the work not just of career professionals but also of Trump’s own political appointees.

Shortly after the election, the presidential personnel office had also instructed the liaisons to fire any political appointees who were looking for jobs while Trump refused to accept the election results. Trump’s term ends at noon on Jan. 20. Several thousand political appointees across the government will see their jobs end by that date.

The White House personnel office has been headed by former Trump personal assistant John McEntee, who has renewed Trump’s push to rid the administration of those deemed “disloyal” to the president.

Trump is hard at work continuing to try to steal the election he clearly lost but not at all working on the national pandemic under his watch.

Where are the board republicans that used to talk about tort reform?

Well, there's never really been much doubt that to the extent that illegal voting or other voting shenanigans takes place, it is almost certainly mainly done by republicans. Republicans are simply better at playing dirty than democrats and it has been that way for a very long time.

This is an excellent article by an AJC columnist about the crazy conspiracy theories going around in Georgia: https://www.ajc.com/opinion/columnists/opinion-crazy-is-as-crazy-does-in-georgia-post-election-dystopia/ZBHROY4IOFAYTGKV3QWJYVQ3GI/.  The money line:

"Elected Republicans remind me of bank customers being held at gunpoint as an increasingly maniacal bandit demands that his hostages tell him he’s good-looking and smart."

I know I’ve said this before, but you really can’t make this sh*t up.

She said, "some people think all Latins look alike (gesturing toward herself with her hands). I think all Chinese look alike."

Some people think all blacks vote alike (or if they don't that they aren't black).

That makes sense.  I mean, Louis DeJoy was a top donor to notoriously partisan socialist *checks notes* Donald Trump.

This context doesn't make her seem less racist.

Correct.  People think Trump changed the Republican Party.  No, they're just like him and have been for a while.  Always doing bad things then projecting it onto the other side.  They'll unabashedly cry about the other side stealing the election while they are in the process of trying to steal the election.

Lmao do u guys remember in 2012 when Anonymous claimed they prevented Karl Rove and Crossroads GPS from stealing the election and that’s why Karl Rove had an absolute meltdown on Fox News election night? I could see it tbh.

I definitely remember the meltdown.  Not sure he was trying to steal it so much as he's a complete moron (as are most Republicans).
