All these profiles in courage bailing to avoid the 25th amendment decision and blaming the violence.

They aren't avoiding it. It looks like Pompeo and Mnuchin tried to do it but they decided they couldn't be sure if they could pull it off. Call it avoiding perhaps. But when they saw that 25 (wrongfully) couldn't be pulled off, they decided to quit.

This one, I'll admit, I didn't see coming at all. She's been in lock step with Trump the whole way.

Still an atrocious woman. Corrupt, cruel, ignorant, and incapable of discharging the duties of her office. The fact that she was even confirmed in the first place is a damning indictment of this country.

The Blue avatars don't seem to get one really simple fact: You either support America or you support Trump.  These are entirely mutually exclusive things at this point.  You are free to support Russia and Trump simultaneously though, which I'm sure you already do.
Trumpists don't really support Russia more than they support America, so this is a false dichtonomy. In fact, many Trumpists are anti-Russian hawks who will in fact point to the sanctions against Russia Trump signed as a good thing.
This "Trump loves Putin" meme never really made sense.

You are confusing standard republican warmongers (Liz Cheney, Marco Rubio) with pathetic no self dignity Trumpist clowns (Rand Paul, Ron Johnson).
Even taking into account these differences, you don't get any closer to the truth. You don't get any closer to proving me wrong.

DeVos took her brother's pardon and ran, lmao.

Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, and Josh Hawley have done more for the student loan crisis and they're Senators.

Good riddance.

Meanwhile half of the Republican Party approves of the riots, and their conspiracy theory was validated by a majority of the Republican House caucus just hours after the attack!

To be fair, pretty much every Republican has condemned the violence, just as how establishment Dems condemned BLM riots.

To quote a cult member who was interviewed yesterday: "Well we know he [they] has to say that but we know he [they] supports us"

The cultists could just be saying that to make themselves feel better.

147 Republicans voted to object to the election based on the president's lies. They know his claims are and have always been completely fabricated and they've decided perpetuating the lies is worth more to them than defending and uniting the country. Those lies triggered the violence by Trump's supporters. He's radicalized them with lies that their country is being stolen from them, their culture is being stolen from them, their election is being stolen from them.

The lies are behind the violence and unless the Republican Party comes out and apologizes to the nation for breeding terrorism in the gullible to get votes, they're 100% still the pieces of crap to blame.

Saying "I still think I won but don't hurt people" with no affect isn't worth a bucket of snake piss.

But it’s different from actually supporting the violence, which I’ve seen no Republican do so far.

I don’t buy it. Even if they tried and failed, situations change daily. They’re running away from the power to keep things stable.

Updating the title by the hour as things get worse for Trump has never been more simultaneously depressing (for the sake of the nation) and refreshing.

No it’s explicitly supporting the violence. They are lying, these lies were used to incite this mob, they immediately went back to lying. Alternately they actually believe this, in which case the violence was justified.
In either case, this vote is supporting the insurrection.

An Al Qaeda recruiter who never leaves camp or hurts someone directly is still to blame. You don't get to spend years radicalizing people and suddenly be outraged they're radicalized and insane. They need to stop the lying or they're knowingly encouraging more of this. 147 of them voted with hopes of maintaining this madness to further their own ambitions. They're all going to hell when they die.

I don’t think they actually wanted to incite violence though.

Lying doesn’t mean you supported the violence anymore than supporting BLM meant you agreed with the occupation of downtown Seattle.

WHAT DID THEY THINK WAS GOING TO HAPPEN?

You spend months telling people this election is the "last chance to save the country" and if Biden wins we'll be a socialist tyrannical dictatorship, then he wins and you say "THE ELECTION WAS STOLEN! WE HAVE TO DO SOMETHING!"

How do you think people are going to react to that?!

Massive convoy of police cars and other emergency personnel passed my apartment complex a little while ago. They were headed in the general direction of Capitol Hill.

1) Trump did, so did some of the rally speakers who told them to fight for Trump.

2) The congresspeople who KNOW they are lying also KNOW these people are loose cannons.  Just look at those deplorables at the mob rally.  They look like they just escaped a meth treatment facility.

3) If they didn't KNOW, then they were willfully ignorant.  We saw what the Trump cultists tried to do to Gretchen Whitmer because of the rhetoric.  Therefore at minimum they were grossly negligent.

If you do not get these simple verifiable facts then YOU ALSO are being willfully ignorant to justify your position.  No more bothsidesism.  The Trump cult literally attempted a coup against our government and its peaceful transition to the next President.  They are literally enemies of the state and so are their supporters.

They're adults. They saw the violence happen. Even if they didn't want it go that far they still continued the behavior that made it happen. If they were naïve, that excuse was eradicated by the time the 147 traitors made that vote. It was criminally irresponsible and deliberate.

And none of them have the excuse that they believe the vote was truly stolen. They all know how elections work and none are trying to throw out congressional results where they won. They know Trump lost because his behavior turned out Democratic voters, but they're afraid his base won't vote for them in 2022 or 2024 without this commitment to the lies he's made them believe.

This isn’t me supporting the people opposing the certification of electoral votes- they should honestly resign immediately- but opposing the results doesn’t mean they actually support the violence.
