As politics junkies, we should be proud that we have it right on our fine little site here. 

It should always be red for Dems and blue for the GOP.  Red has always been used to represent liberal parties and vice versa for blue.

This.  Why don't we agree to vigilantly switch Wikipedia to the proper scheme and revert future edits back to it?

No way, I'm actually used to the colors by now. It feels weird when I watch tv or go on the internet and the Democrats are blue and the Republicans are red. But keep in mind I've been on this site for about three weeks and I've been reading the forums for quite a bit longer than that.
