Does anyone have a link to a county by county map of the returns? There was one for Virginia, but i can't find one for New Jersey.

http://www.politico.com/election/2009/maps/#/NJ

Thanks.

That sucks. Corzine down 25 among Indies. Hopefully he can hold the Dem vote.

The question isn't so much what percentage of the Dem vote he gets, but what kinda raw numbers he gets.  Turnout in some important areas for Corzine—namely Newark—is supposedly down.

Fox reported that exit polling shows Corzine winning among African Americans, 9:1, but losing among white men AND white women.

If I had to guess, Christie is going to win outside the margin of error.  Based, of course, on the limited info we're getting from exit polls.  Tongue

Losing by how much though?

I didn't write it down.  IIRC, Christie was in the low 60s among white men and mid-50s among women.

I'm trying to find the actual exit poll.  Last I checked, it's not on CNN's website, like it used to be.

2008 exit poll had Obama beating McCain by just 50%-49% among white women in NJ, while winning the state by something like 15 points.

I just hope that some blacks actually came out today, otherwise forget it.

Thanks.  Caveat - the early exit poll numbers on CNN's website in the 2008 Presidential election were often revised within the first hour.  There's no full exit poll on CNN's website right now.

If Blacks make up 15% and they went 9: 1 for Corzine, I think Christies finished.  I would also have to know what the hispanic vote was.

The other warning sign is with people who are worried about the nation's direction. In New Jersey, 90% said they are worried, and Christie leads with these folks by three points, 48%-45%.

From NRO's The Campaign Spot:

Public Policy Polling notes that their final poll had Christie winning the independents by 23; the exit polls indicate Christie won them by 25. They interpret this as a sign that most Daggett supporters and undecideds went into the Christie pile. PPP's final poll put Christie up 6 overall.

By how much does Corzine lead among the other 10%?

That doesn't mean much. We don't know what the party composition was. PPP had it 44-36-20 for the Democrats, but it could be 45-28-27 for the Democrats. PPP also had Corzine at 41%, while the Exits have him at least 5% better than that.

It's now 46-44-9 for Corzine with 6.5% reporting. Corzine carried Gloucester 53-43 in 2005.
