I call that the ultimate bridge to nowhere.

What a zinger by Biden.

Biden is getting annoyed. He is on the verge of entering patronizing territory. His last response was unnecessarily abrasive, especially the ending.

Palin though looks like she is on anti-depressants.

Palin hasn't said anything inordinately stupid thus far but she just doesn't look the part...

Wow, the Democrats here are getting pissed.  It's either the latent misogyny talking, or Palin is actually doing well.

Correct, I want real economic solutions, so I am a misogynist.

Maybe it's the same thing that Bush was on in the last 2004 debate.

McCain will say anything to anyone to get elected.

Biden looks like he's had tape applied to his eyelids to stay awake.

He does have that xanax vibe tonight, doesn't he.

Reckon they gave him one or two, just to keep him from making an ass of himself?

Palin is attacking Obama for giving tax breaks to oil companies. I think she's just saying whatever she thinks will go over best.

This debate is GREAT

A draw so far, Biden's going to have to mix it up soon though, Palin's winning w/o really answering any questions, she's setting the pace.

Biden just flashed a really big smile that I thought was unfortunate. This is a race between Palin looking like self-parody and Biden starting to seriously look patronizing.

Roomful of rowdy Democrats, here, but I do get the idea that Palin is doing well but Biden is landing the best tactical blows.

Fair summary?

As do I, much to my suprise. The Perkiness is winning me over. She's also doing her best to subtly bait Biden, IMO.

I actually think we're a very easily amused society.

Good thing, too, considering that one of these two clowns will be a heartbeat away from the presidency next year.

Palin is doing a terrible job on the facts, and answering questions, but if someone is just watching style and doesn't pay much attention to the facts, her performance doesn't seem so bad.

"Main Streeters like me"

She's trying to relate to regular people way too much. It doesn't matter if she's a regular person.

I don't think either of them are doing all that well honestly. Sometimes they aren't even answering the questions being given to them and overall its kinda boring....

How silly of Biden to actually answer the question rather than switching to some other topic to have bullsh**t sound-bytes.

Palin is just in lala-land.

Definition of doing well. As someone who does competitive debate she is doing a good job holding her own in the conversation. I'm not sure though if thats what she is trying to do here. She dosen't need to prove that she can be argumentative, which no one has challenged, but that she is not uninformed. In that sense, I think that her tactically skillful dodging don't really help her. She needs to actually answer questions. She looks combative, but Biden looks Presidential.

Also I think the Tina Fey thing has done damage by making fun of her vague responses, and such her responses here, which would have worked fine two weeks ago, have a touch of self-parody today.

Palin needs to ease of the molasses a bit, and Biden needs to pick it up, attack more, attack any.

So far, I think it's going to be a reverse effect of the first debate.  It might be a tie, but I think a tie is going to go to Palin.

Gaffe, Palin says she's not one to attribute every activity of man to the climate.
