I'm not sure at country of 8 million will cope very well with getting at 600.000 person minority closely related to a 55 million neighbour. A new irridenta, perhaps.

That's 58 million, thank you very much.  Smiley
56.5 million after you dump South Tirol and the Trentino. Smiley

Well, we don't plan on getting rid of any of that so...  Wink

You don't have a problem with me? As I said before, you've made plenty of condescending remarks directed my way in the past and you've just admitted that your comment about me being a loudmouth is, to an extent, an insult.

One of the stranger things about the internets is that so many people on it have the curious idea that if someone throws some occasional snide remarks in their general direction, remembers a few odd details about them or corrects them about something, then that person must be hostile towards them and quite the obsessive to boot.

Curious, really.

Yes. I'd also like to see independence for Wales and Cornwall from the UK, a united Ireland and independence for Brittany from France as well.

And I suppose you'd support German and Italian deunification as well?

Not really, why? Are there any ethnic minorities in Germany that want independence? I know of the Slavic speaking Sorb minority in eastern Germany, but I am unsure if they have a movement for independence.

I do, however, also support Basque independence from Spain/France, but I didn't mention that in my previous message because they are not one of the modern Celtic nations.

independence for Brittany from France as well.

Breizh Atao! (in the non fascist way, o/c).

At the same time, I'm waving the little French flag I bought for my birthday. Hypocritical. Smiley

Question: Which secessionist/autonomist movement in Italy does the general consensus of the international board think is the most likely to secede? I ask this in here since it's too minor a question for it's own thread and the euro posters are in here.

It wouldn't be "independence" in Germany, but a general breakup. Every German is a member of a minority within Germany, there is no majority group here. Of course all these peoples are heavily intermarried and closely related anyways, but that doesn't really change the facts.
