The odds for all 4 are very slim. I went for A anyway.

I was going to do that, but I kinda wanted the maps to be crazy.

Map A. Obama would need a landslide to win NC, and I find it very, very hard to see him winning NC while losing PA. At this point an Obama landslide is slightly more likely than a McCain landslide.

Since if Obama wins North Carolina he most certainly wins Michigan and Pennsylvania, it leaves it to A and B.  And since I see an Obama landslide way before a McCain one, I'll go with A.

Er... Map A, I guess, though they're all unlikely.

MAP C without Virginia and North Carolina.

Isn't that 2 states different from your default map for everything?

I Purple heart how Josh has NC going to Obama in 3 out of the 4. I almost want it to go Dem just so he can be happy! !

I'm going to say B, only because the others are not really viable situations except for A.  A and B could happen, but even in a perfect Obama storm I don't see him taking ND or MT

That is because right now I am 80% sure it will go for Obama.

I love your enthusiasm, dude.  But do you have ANY idea how much has to happen for Obama to carry your state?

You have to hope that whites in the state, some of the most traditional people as well as conservative, vote 1/3 for a liberal black man.

Not only that, but you have to hope that blacks vote 95% for Obama (possible) AND increase their turnout to 30% of the overall voting population.

Recent elections have shown neither of these things will actually happen.  NC being close is a very good sign for Obama, but NC is still one of the most Republican states in the nation.

Love the optimism, but it ain't gonna happen.  Not a single poll has shown Obama tied, let alone ahead in North Carolina.  I can't consider North Carolina anything but lean GOP until Obama is shown ahead in at least 1 poll.

B, but only if the conflict with Iran develops prior to election day.  Otherwise, I don't like any of the maps.

A and B are the only ones that seem plausible so I vote A considering Obama's current position of strength.
