The Oregonian's website has Obama leading in Curry County! I thought that corner was supposed to be Clinton's stronghold.

That's my county!!! I was expecting more like 60-40, but maybe I don't fit into the student demographics anymore....

Oregon - one of the most liberal states in the union. Bless them. Smiley

Well, one of the more liberal states. Remember it almost voted for Bush in 2000 and is more independent than liberal (Oregonian politics are really weird to look at)

Bend (Deschutes) is a 3:2 killing, which gives some insulation for Obama in OR-2...

Not that he needs it, since Jackson (Medford/Ashland) is another 3:2.

Looking at Baker (only 53-47 Clinton), where Clinton campaigned, and Malheur (53-44), where at least some of the Dems must be Hispanic, I think it's safe to say that Obama stands a pretty high chance of winning all of Oregon's CDs.

Sad

These numbers all look very good for Obama. I hope he breaks 60%.

Interestingly, the Oregonian has different results from CNN in Baker County. They have Clinton leading 53-47, but with fewer votes on both sides. Maybe they got an incomplete report of the earlier numbers?

Wow Obama was much stronger than expected in Jackson county. I think he will win every CD.

By the way, Ron Paul is currently on target to win 4 delegates from Oregon, if I'm reading the numbers correctly.

Looks like I'll have to eat crow on Jackson Co.... not to mention CD-2.

Considering that it is an overwhelmingly Republican county which is 25+% Latino, I would say you're right....

It's Albany.  Heavily working class, conservative Republicans and culturally conservative Democrats, very much the kind of area where Clinton should be doing extremely well.  The same essentially goes for Douglas County to the south.

im a little confused about how they do things in oregon.

1.  the media kept saying the polls close at 8 pt in oregon.  how can the polls close if it was a mail in vote?  was there a place you could drop off your ballot in person until 8pm?

2.  are the ballots optical scan?

Ah, I figured something was favoring her in those two counties.

Considering what we're seeing, I would say Obama actually did quite well in Albany, his problem is most likely in smaller cities like Lebanon and Sweet Home.... not to mention getting creamed in the rural areas.

Two new Eastern counties:

Wallowa (Enterprise) is Obama +16

Lake (Lakeview, if you can call it a place) is Clinton +8

Clinton leads Baker by 3 votes, down from several hundred

Obama wins Wallowa County 56-40, which apparently has counted all of its ballots (pretty damn impressive if true).

Nope. It's a straight McCain-Paul battle. With an odd delegate apportionment system.
