CNN keeps saying Clinton can still win for an obvious reason: Ratings. If they said it's likely over, people will quit watching.

I'm not sure how French Auburn is compared to Lewiston, but the population must be at least somewhat substantial. It was very close, 55-54 Obama.

wait...so Clinton lost Lewiston...the place where she visited?

No, no, Clinton won Lewiston, but she lost Auburn, which is Lewiston's twin city across the Androscoggin River. Lewiston is famous for having a lot of French speakers and is thus a Clinton stronghold. Auburn has fewer French speakers (10% v 26% in Lewiston, just looked it up), but a still substantial number, and is also an industrial town, yet voted for Obama.

Ah interesting. What about Augustus and Portland....which way do they trend?

I'm saying this as a Hillary supporter, she needs to start giving her position some serious thought. Can she afford to really wait out for Texas?

It was very close, yes... and just going by demographics not only should it have been on the other side, it also shouldn't have been close. Tongue

As far as I know, nothing has come out of either yet, but both should be strong for Obama. However, as the results being reported by the news stations do not have town breakdowns, they could have come in already.

It's quite incomplete and vague, however. Nice to look at, but not useful for which have reported and which have not.

This just in from CNN:  Hillary running better than expected in Maine.  They never expected to win there.

lolwut

Half of the people here were calling Maine for Clinton.  If Obama wins with 57% of the vote, that will be a huge victory for him.

In theory, yes. But caucuses are not really very representative things (which is why I didn't even try to make a prediction for Maine) and we should not be surprised when results from them look strange.

57-42. This is quite a catch. When are they going to call Maine? Soon, it will be mathematically impossible for Hillary to win.

The Clinton News Network will probably call Maine in a few hours, when they're done ignoring reality.

Hasn't it occurred to you people that the reason that CNN hasn't called it yet, is that the caucuses are still going on?
