CNN has "assured" people that Clinton may squeak this out with a win because alot of areas that havnt come in have been friendly to her....so says Candy Crowley.

And in other news, Portland is still at 0%.

So is everything else.  We have no idea where these results are coming from.

Hillary needs more than 60% of the areas that are still out to win this one.

I'm hearing anecdotal reports that the remaining locales are neither heavily Obama or heavily Clinton, and this margin should (more or less) hold up.

This could be filthy lies, though.

I trust CNN when they say we shouldn't call things yet, they nailed Missouri

All CNN not calling it yet means is that they are less than 99.65% sure.

If the CD 1 vote is between 50% and 61.1% Obama and the CD 2 vote is between 50% and 64.3% Obama, then
If the statewide vote is less than 56.25% Obama, Obama gets 13/24 delegates
If the statewide vote is greater than 56.25% Obama, Obama gets 14/25 delegates

Right, everyone knows you shouldn't call a state this early in the game... unless Clinton is leading, because then it's insurmountable. Tongue

The Clinton News Network refuses to concede to Obama.  How very unusual for them.  LOL

No...but CNN is the only station to actually "assure" their viewers that a Clinton victory is very possible and probable later on.

Arbitrary choice there? If you had said 99.73, then you might have been more compelling.

Why does CNN repeatedly shoot themselves in the foot like this? Do they not realize they actually hurt Hillary by doing this?

No, that's actually the official percentage of confidence that they use.

Parts of Lewiston are in, as is Auburn. Auburn actually voted for Obama, which is a surprise, and the margin in Lewiston does not look as if it will be larger than Obama's margin in Bangor, let alone Portland.

I'm not sure how French Auburn is compared to Lewiston, but the population must be at least somewhat substantial. It was very close, 55-54 Obama.

I don't think this makes any difference to the average voter, only the sick political junkies like us.

Lewiston: French Canadian (29.4%), French (18.3%)
Auburn: French (20.3%),  French Canadian (17.1%)

No, no, Clinton won Lewiston, but she lost Auburn, which is Lewiston's twin city across the Androscoggin River. Lewiston is famous for having a lot of French speakers and is thus a Clinton stronghold. Auburn has fewer French speakers (10% v 26% in Lewiston, just looked it up), but a still substantial number, and is also an industrial town, yet voted for Obama.
