Hasn't it occurred to you people that the reason that CNN hasn't called it yet, is that the caucuses are still going on?

Yes, but the majority of them are done by now, and it is quickly becoming mathematically unlikely for Clinton to possibly hope to win.

So Obama won another northeast state....next to New Hampshire that went for Clinton and in Clintons backyard....by a healthy margin too. I dont care if its a caucus or not...this is significant.

At 6:30 PM?  They are?

The last one opened at 6:30, actually. Don't recall where, but you could check the Maine Democratic Party's site.

Are Washington, Louisiana and Maine all having a competition this weekend for the most pointlessly weird way to hold a caucus?

Assuming that Obama does win Maine and that CNN is not actually basing what they're saying on actual evidence, no argument from me here.  Maine was supposed to be Clinton's firewall against  the 9th and the 12th where she shows that she can still win states and is still relevant.  For her to lose Maine by double digits is very bad news.

Louisiana had a primary.

Louisiana had a primary.

And Texas trumps them all.

Was it? I don't remember anyone saying that, though I've only been following the spin war from a disgusted and largely uninterested distance so wouldn't really know. It would certainly be an odd (or perhaps "brave") position to take given the system used though.

Hillary needs over 70% in the areas that are still out to win. This one is over.

The Clinton Campaign said itself that they had a better chance at Maine then any other state Pre-Potomic Primary...and obviously the three races from yesterday and that they were actually confident they would grab a win tonight. Now they are saying "we never had a chance...." riiiiight...

A lot of people brought up the "church" factor but if anything that was probably a slight net negative for Obama due to the time the caucuses were held, with old people more likely to go to church in the morning and young people in the evening. Very very small negative though, almost negligible.

Well, it was generally taken to be Clinton's best hope for a win in this region of time, and I distinctly recall the Clinton campaign calling it winnable, though I might be mistaken.

The Clinton campaign hasn't figured out that the spin of the 90's is dead.  It's over...it's a real turnoff to voters.  We don't want it and when they do it, it hurts them more every time

Both those facts are/were/might be, but neither is really the same as;

Maine was supposed to be Clinton's firewall against  the 9th and the 12th where she shows that she can still win states and is still relevant.

Unless firewall means something other than what I thought it did. Which is possible.

Wow....they prefer to show the opening of the Grammy Awards as a headliner instead of Obama winning Maine. You actually have to go to the Maine results page to see they projected it for them. What a bunch of sore losers.
