If there's no objections from his voters, I will be counting Polnut's delegates (and votes) as Sensei's, and replacing Polnut with Sensei on the ballot.  I will leave 3 hours open for objections.

My edited vote for PolNut will count for Sensei, right?

Were there deadline requirements for entering the progressive primary, and if so, why were they ignored?

I realize Earl supports Sensei, and there was probably no malicious intent involved, but giving him all of Polnut's delegates without a new contest is kind of presumptuous (even if every single Polnut voter ends up supporting Sensei, no doubt likely).

I share the concerns, but for the sake of time, it seems likely enough that all Polnut voters are Sensei voters.

I was going to lodge an objection when I saw that thing, then decided the three hours were up... indeed it was about 9 hours. Then I decided to just ignore this joke instead.

Considering neither of you even voted for Polnut, your concerns are invalid. I'm more or less worried about those who voted for Polnut but do not support Sensei.

I had a difficult decision to make, and I made one. Please understand that. As for the voting system, I'm open for reforms during the next primary, as I am always.  Of course, at this point it's too late to change things for this time around.

Feels oddly like the 2002-era 'if you voted for Nader, then don't complain about Bush' nonsense...

So a decision clearly made to boost the chances of one candidate cannot be challenged by someone other than a supporter of that candidate?

That's beyond retarded.

I don't see how the challenge has any validity, though. I can see why someone who likes Polnut but not Sensei would have a problem, but why would someone who didnt vote for Polnut have a problem? Your vote did not go to a candidate that you did not vote for.

A simple matter of fairness?  Because every Polnut voter may not be following the election closely enough to even realize that Polnut has dropped out yet?  Because not everyone will have even seen your declaration that their votes will automatically count towards Sensei, and thus cannot protest that which they do not know about?

I understand your concerns, but so far they're only the concerns of people who did not support Polnut nor Sensei. They may not be paying attention true, but perhaps that just means they don't care.

This was the only way of fixing the problem knowing that Polnut would have otherwise won a majority of delegates and thus being chosen as the nominee despite not even running. During the first round of balloting, delegates must pledge their support behind a candidate, and cannot switch until the second round. This would have meant that Sensei could only get votes in the second round, but if Polnut receives a majority on the first round, then a second round is not required.

I understand there is opposition to this system, but it would be unfair to change it now. I did give ample time for people to discuss this before the various deadlines, and I would have been open to changing a few things.

Oops, well then put me down to be a delegate for Jas and let me know when it opens.
