I've watched that loser movie.  Wasn't Hassan that kid who was friends with another kid, and was good at flying kites, and got raped?

The book moved me greatly (often to tears), in fact so much that I have kept in communication with the author. Movies typically are thin beer as compared the book. The guy who was good at flying kites, cut off his friend after his friend got raped, and had to deal with the detritus of that very wrong decision.
