If I lived in California, I'd want to live in Orange County. The Bay Area is a close second.

^^^^^^^^^^^^

All I've been to in CA is the National Training Center and that was enough of California for me.

Los Angeles. I'd love to live in one of those mansions with a swimming pool that overlooks downtown Los Angeles and the entire LA basin. San Francisco would be a close second.

Parts of the Valley are very nice, but too hot in summer. I'd probably like it somewhat up in the hills east of the Valley, though. The Bay Area is very expensive. My favorite area, however, is the coast north of the Bay Area, where my parents live. Absolutely gorgeous. San Diego is very nice, also. Perfect weather.

The Bay Area is my first choice of those listed.

Probably somewhere inland and in northern California. Would like to see the wildlife.

Considering I was born in Pasadena... I'll say LA... It's not that bad.

The area is nice, but some of the people here are snobs.

An urban part of the San Francisco metro.

Methinks even here some people are getting their perceptions of Orange County from the television.

The impression of the television show isn't a very accurate protrayal of the OC.

I have to agree with Alcon: San Fran, the urban part.

If you get the right part, I hear its a real great place; All the easy access of the city, without the mega high crime rates of eastern cities.

Anyone who says Orange County is a HP. OC portrayal or not, it's still a horrible place.

I have to agree...having once driven out of Anaheim to explore things, and found some of the most horrifically endless cookie-cutter suburbs I've ever seen.

Orange County doesn't deserve to be part of California. Truly disgusting place.

I have lived in the Bay Area for over twelve years and love being here, though sometimes I wish that we had more rain.

In the U.S., when you say you "have a mate", it has the connotation of being a person that you will mate with, thus producing children.
