I'm kind of conflicted. I like Cameron the best, but I like the Labour the best.

Why on Earth would you like Cameron the best?

"Britain will have less influence on the world stage."

Is that the best attack ad they could come up with?

No "David Cameron would have soldiers with machine guns patrolling London."?

No "Nick Clegg is an evil reptilian kitten eater from another planet."?

I'm disappointed. Horribly, horribly disappointed.
If you're expecting mainstream parties to tell the truth, you're going to be. -_-

Labour gets a thumbs up from me for referencing Little Britain.

Is that an official Labour poster? Really?

As far as I know. Tongue

The poster page on the Lab website was taken down at 4.30pm BST this afternoon and is now replaced by a 404 message

It was real. It was released immediately after Brown's Little Britain soundbite.

Why on Earth would you like Cameron the best?
Brown seems kind of washed-up to me, and Clegg is saying all these platitude. Cameron seems genuine.

Fail.

One needs to be rather stupid to find Cameron genuine.

He's so annoying.

You know, I'm really on the fence here, I quite like Gordon Brown as opposed to Nick Clegg, however, I still support the Lib Dems over Lab, but I pray to God that the Conservatives don't win.

I assume he means that he's old and haggard and has a weird jaw.

Ok. He's fake. But he's probably the smartest and most thoughtful candidate in the race.

He's the most apt politician, definately. He's also the one who wants to win this the most.

On a question of history?

Could I ask what the following US Presidents made of the following election results?

Hoover (Lab 287, Con 260, Lib 59)
Nixon (Lab 301, Con 297, Lib 14)

Thumbs down for me. Then again living in the US you won't have been over-exposed to it.. Wink

I've always doubted the forgone conclusion that Clegg would go with Labour. It'd be clear electoral suicide to prop up a government (and a Prime Minister) as unpopular as the current one and Gordon Brown.

I've always thought that Clegg was a lot more "Cameronite" than he lets on.

Ok. He's fake. But he's probably the smartest and most thoughtful candidate in the race.

Fake? No, one thing Brown is not is fake. He's all too real for the televised world. He's grumpy and curmudgeonly (to put it rather kindly), and he's the only one who gives even a hint that he doesn't actually support any policies, just a general world view (even though they all think this way, of course).

I think you missed the point of the article, change08. Basically, Parris was saying that Clegg is post-class in his politics, while Brown is mired in the politics of social class (and the accompanying ties like trade unions). Cameron has tried to make the Tories post-class, too, but their membership and MPs are too tied up in classism for it to work (and it's not clear how genuine Cameron is about it).

The Lib Dems have always (always meaning since the 1980s, I suppose) not been tied up in the upper class-lower class conflict the way Labour and the Tories are, even though that has in the past marginalized them to voters who themselves don't like the class conflict (the middle class, marginalized rural areas and government employees).

Good lord, that Elvis rally is embarrassing.

Indeed, a rather blatant attempt to woo Church of the Militant Elvis Party voters.
Won't work - Kettering will still be a CMEP gain.
