Currently it's:

Quote
Donald John Trump (born June 14, 1946) is an American politician, media personality, and businessman who served as the 45th president of the United States from 2017 to 2021.

I suspect it'll become:
Quote
Donald John Trump (born June 14, 1946) is an American politician, media personality, businessman, and convicted felon who served as the 45th president of the United States from 2017 to 2021.

Yes that would be typical.

There will be a ferocious fight on the Talkpage. Eventually, the English version will end up with some compromise that is both a grammatical atrocity and leave everyone unhappy.

The editors are increasingly far-left, however, there is a large constituency that is concerned about what they see as activists trying to use edits to "war" and this is such a highly charged partisan issue that will leave a critical mass unhappy with all of their options.

Quite possible, though there are other examples with the exact same wording as proposed by BRTD. See Blago:

Quote
Rod Blagojevich (/bləˈɡɔɪ.əvɪtʃ/ blə-GOY-ə-vitch; born December 10, 1956), often referred to by his nickname "Blago",[2][3] is an American politician, political commentator, and convicted felon who served as the 40th governor of Illinois from 2003 to 2009.

Probably not. There are several Israeli and South Korean leaders who was jailed and wikipedia doesn't mention it in the first line. It really seems to be case by case

It's a pretty important detail.

They do it for most felons, so why not him?

I voted no. There’s already been a precedent set with Nicholas Sarkozy, best known for being president of France. This isn’t Jailopedia. I agree with some of the commenters that it could be recent and left-wing bias putting that in the first sentence. And I say that hating the guy’s guts. But I’m a proud Wikipedian and I believe in a policy of being unbiased.

It really shouldn't, honestly. Notable people's Wikipedia articles rarely mention their crimes upfront unless it's the most significant thing they're known for. Roman Polanski, for example, doesn't mention his rape case until the second paragraph, and that's something he pleaded guilty to and has been a fugitive over for most of his life. Cosby's allegations are in the first paragraph but not the first line, and even then it's in reference to losing his honorary awards later in life.

It did earlier tonight but now it does not say that, possibly because he's not technically a convicted felon until sentenced.

Some brave patriots tried but were sadly silenced by the woke mob.

"In May 2024, a jury in New York found Trump guilty on 34 felony counts of falsifying business records related to a hush-money payment to Stormy Daniels, making Trump the first U.S. president to be convicted of a crime. Trump called the verdict a "disgrace", claiming it was a rigged and politically motivated trial.[1] "
