This bill is based on the Lincoln Public Library Act (
bill and
library thread) and is intended to catalogue all of the laws and other public documents in effect in Frémont so that they are easily accessible to the public. This way, people can actually know what our laws are (including legislators, since admittedly I hardly know any of them myself). Hopefully, this encourages some activity in our region as people will come to see what policies are currently in place and debate which policies they are supportive of, which they would like to see repealed or changed and which they would like to see enacted to fill a gap in the current statute. Who knows, maybe there will even be a candidate's name on the ballot next election ;p
I would be willing to serve as the first appointed Librarian and compile the statutory archive, unless someone else is particularly enthusiastic about doing so.
