Beta conservatives (this is not said seriously) are falling for it, too scared for that testimony about nothing to be out in public and show they don’t have as much as they claim to be seen.

He's saying the right words to cover for the big guy, so he can get that pardon during the lame duck.

I don't think I've ever heard Hunter speak before. He sounds exactly like a young Joe Biden.

I was looking down and thought it was (Joe) Biden at first until I looked up. lol

If DOJ or the SC prosecute him for contempt of Congress he absolutely should get a pardon for that. He shouldn't get a pardon for the tax stuff nor will he. At most Biden might commute a harsh prison sentence.

Yeah, I thought that before. I think he actually did pretty well.

Here's some some of it:

Ken Buck is a no on II. They can lose 2 more. Unclear if they'll have the votes. Vote is within the hour.

Now that a bunch of the NY Republicans are potentially getting drawn into bluer districts, I wonder if that will effect their calculations. As of yesterday, they were all yes votes.

A Biden impeachment (at this point anyway) can ONLY help him.

The Republicans have nothing and are building a case based on nothing. If they don’t have compelling evidence this will backfire.

Prediction: they will never bring an actual vote on impeachment to the floor.  They just want to be able to say "there's an impeachment inquiry underway against Joe Biden".

Nah. Unfortunately Biden doesn't seem to get the kind of rally effects Trump does when negative things happen to him.

However, I don't think it hurts him either. Nobody will care who isn't a Republican that hates Biden.

House votes to formalize impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden with floor vote

Quote
House Republicans voted Wednesday to formalize an impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden as their investigation reaches a critical juncture and right-wing pressure grows.

In a 221-212 vote, all GOP members supported the resolution to formalize the inquiry – including Republican Rep. Ken Buck of Colorado, who had said earlier this week he was leaning against it.

Up until this point, House Republicans had not had enough votes to legitimize their ongoing inquiry with a full chamber vote. The probe has struggled to uncover wrongdoing by the president, which is why it hasn’t garnered the unified support of the full GOP conference.

Former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy unilaterally launched the inquiry in September, even though he had previously criticized Democrats for taking the same step in 2019 when they launched the first impeachment probe of then-President Donald Trump without taking a vote at the beginning.

It's quite stupid. Democrats had the Ukraine Call to hang their hat on at least. Republicans are just going off of vibes.

The House Republicans would be hilarious if they were not so transparently pathetic.

This would be the same Ralph Norman who begged Trump to declare martial law on January 6th.

That might be the most brain-melting statement I have seen in quite some time from the GOP, and that's saying a lot.

And yet, instead of being ran out of town these bozos have become mainstays of every "serious" Sunday talk show.

Good presser by Hunter, he exceeded my expectations. For sure his legal team is a lot more competent than the one of the orange buffoon. He brilliantly called the GOP's bluff by demanding a public instead of private hearing.

GOP Rep. Explains Impeachment Push: ‘Donald J. Trump 2024, Baby!’
Quote
When Rep. Troy Nehls (R-Texas) was asked Tuesday on Capitol Hill what he’s hoping to gain from an impeachment inquiry, Nehls responded: “All I can say is: Donald J. Trump 2024, baby!”
