This is still a Biden+5 county. If Beto carried it I don’t see why Biden isn’t favored here.

Starr County, Texas—with its county seat Rio Grande City—is in the process of dealigning from the Democrats and is either going to become a bellwether to the state (or nationwide) or one which will realign to the Republicans. The 2016-to-2020 shift, of 55.18 percentage points, was dramatic. It will be an interesting County to Watch for how it will perform in 2024.

Lean D. I think there is a case to be made about how it votes when incumbent Presidents are up for re-election, but the question is whether that disrupts or usurps Hispanic trends in the area.
