Do you know how much of a psychopath you have to be to attack someone this viciously simply because they have the audacity to run against you, when you would otherwise be singing their praises if they did not? This man (along with his pathetic, emotionally stunted son) are sick.

Beautiful to see the GOP reap what it has sown.
The 2016 Faustian bargain hasn't been paid in full yet.

No one loves homophobia as much as Boomer Republicans. Smart move by Trump.

Sounds like Trump is ready to put somebody up to accusing DeSantis. But it's pretty stupid to admit that's what you are going to do. Then again with the primary electorate Trump is trying to appeal to they wouldn't believe he paid someone to lie even if he admitted it.

He's trying to rattle DeSantis into passing up 2024, or threaten to cut down his public figure like he did the 2016 candidates. In Trump's eyes, running against him is lèse-majesté and cannot be forgiven. DeSantis is evidently vicious and cruel, but may not have fully realised just how evil and vindictive Trump will turn. The pedophilia accusations are probably only the start of his red-hot revenge.

There's a reason all the 2016 Republicans are giving this run a wide berth.

Really wish DeSantis would just clap back with the obvious "I don't take my lessons on pedophilia from a friend of Epstein" and be done with it.

That would be a good response, but DeSantis is not clever enough to go that route and that's partly why he is such an overrated candidate. He needs to walk a fine line between attacking Trump while not alienating his cult that he needs to vote for him too.

Don't worry it's coming, DeSantis only has to post a photo of Trump and Jeffrey Epstein together and give a wink, wink, nudge nudge and imply Trump had a thing for his daughter, Ivanka and add incest into the mix, actually not say it by not saying it! Look how skilled he was when criticizing the Bragg over the Trump-Stormy Daniels pay off & reminds voter's over and over again about Trump and pornstars, while reminding voters over the crime rates that Democrats are responsible for. Trump didn't like it, because he goes attack mode on DeSantis; all because DeSantis remind voter's over Trump's degenerate personality traits! Hey,  if Trump's gonna dish it out, better be ready for incoming, because DeSantis is feeling his oats and he isn't even a candidate yet! I think Trump doesn't really appreciate how more skilled and deft DeSantis is, and a pedo or gay dig ain't gonna do it; So if I were Trump I'd reconsider the pedo route, because Jeffrey Epstein could end up in Trump's back yard, there is visual evidence of Trump and Epstein hanging out together and all DeSantis has to do is dig up some person who Trump abused at Epstein's parties, then you have game, set and match...bada bing!

There are currently multiple ongoing trials against Trump for rape, and we have him on tape all but admitting he did it repeatedly.

We're long past the 2016 establishment fantasy land where just a "little more dirt" on Trump will finally sink him, but you seem to have returned there in your despair that DeSantis will go the way of every other GOP rising star.

Making fun of homophobes for looking, acting, or sounding stereotypically gay is ground that the Left shouldn't have conceded. I'll just say that there's a reason why when you hear media reports about DeSantis, especially in conservative outlets like Fox, they're always talking about what he's doing rather than showing him speaking:

Be done with what? As Marco Rubio discovered, one good clap back only poisons the well of debate, since Trump is pathologically unforgiving. DeSantis' only chance is to keep talking about his heroic antigay crusade.

If he starts attacking Trump, it's a one way road to a verbal knife fight. What does he have to gain?

Totally disagree with you. The main reason other Republicans failed to take Trump down in 2016 was because they were so busy jockeying to be the Trump alternative and attacking each other that by the time they finally started attacking Trump directly, he had already consolidated enough of the base to win. Rubio did not lose because he attacked Trump; he lost precisely because he attempted the strategy you're recommending for DeSantis. Republicans want an alpha and if DeSantis can come out and start sharply attacking Trump (from the right) and match his energy, it'll be a boon for him.

I honestly can't believe that DeSantis is parroting the Nikki Haley line and saying his focus wouldn't be defeating other Republicans and instead focusing on Biden. That is not a winning strategy.

It seems like he started to attack Trump :

https://nypost.com/2023/03/21/ron-desantis-opens-fire-on-trumps-character-chaotic-style/

Quote
When I asked DeSantis to cite specific differences between him and Trump, he said: “Well, I think there’s a few things. The approach to COVID was different. I would have fired somebody like Fauci. I think he got way too big for his britches, and I think he did a lot of damage.”

DeSantis also slammed Trump’s chaotic, self-obsessed, divisive management style: “I also think just in terms of my approach to leadership, I get personnel in the government who have the agenda of the people and share our agenda. You bring your own agenda in, you’re gone. We’re just not gonna have that. So, the way we run the government, I think, is no daily drama, focus on the big picture and put points on the board, and I think that’s something that’s very important.”

Even then I’m not sure this will be that effective. I think what he needs is his Karl Rove

It doesn't matter which one gets nominated the QU poll shows they are both behind Biden 50/47 and ARG and Rassy has Biden at 47/51 not 41/55 that Monmouth has Biden by, Approvals lie the same as Obama beat Romney by 50/47

The difference is that Biden committed misdemeanor not Felony and Trump has which rubs off of course on DeSantis

Whether we agree or not on 2016 strategies, now Trump has his rock solid base of 40%, which no other politician will ever crack.

Can DeSantis really rally around the other 60% through the power of his attacks on Drumpf? You seem to think he can, but it's a tall order when he'll be called a pedophile, a pervert, a traitor, a sellout and worse daily by a former president with a bully pulpit.

As I said before and say it again how are RS gonna try to get D's to vote like in 2016/ they need blue states WI and Pa we don't need TX and FL but with Trump we can, and they are blocking students loan forgiveness, they passed it last Nov, Biden did and it should of passed then and Rs are blocking it just like they are blocking Voting Rights with the Filibuster

It's an obstructionist Tactic, RS use the Filibuster to stop Democratic bills D's never used except during Dixiecrats era to block Dem bills we used it to block bad R bills

His attacks today are a bit cleaner.

While I am fighting against Radical Left Lunatics, Persecutors, and unfair Prosecutors who want to destroy us all, Ron DeSanctimonious is not working for the people of Florida as he should be, he is too busy chatting with a Ratings Challenged TV Host from England, desperately trying to rescue his failing Campaign—But it’s my fault, I put him there!

Ron DeSanctimonious is running—without running! He’s doing this to subvert Election Law. Run Ron, Run! Others have done it before, though, so I can’t really blame him—But he should take a look at his Polls, which are crashing like few people have seen before. That’s because he’s merely an average REPUBLICAN Governor who has great Public Relations, far better than deserved. When you look at the Florida #’s compared to other States, you will not be impressed—I will release them later in the day!
