Democrats want to run against Trump . Republican voters : You need to vote for DeSantis to ensure democrats don’t get what they want from this witch-hunt

Why is this a "witch hunt"?

OSR,
I think the Grand Jury did the right thing! Mister Trump needs once and for all realize that he isn't above the Law.

However I think that this Indictment is only a prelude of what's to come. I think Garland and the DOJ will charge Trump too since he delibirately told his Attorneys to lie when it comes to the classified Documents.

OSR and Republicans will just call Garland's indictment as just more "witch hunt."

They should have him enter through the main lobby/doors, and in handcuffs.

LMAO.
This is hilarious.
Stormy Daniels saying she is drinking champagne after all this news. (And Melania Trump probably trying to hide from the world since early this afternoon, because of donald's romp with a porn star.)
Good Lord.

I don’t think charging candidates for campaign finance violations is a good precedent to have given how much Grey areas candidates already fall into when it comes to campaign finance . Do we want a to start a trend where pretty much every candidate starts to get indicated over this as that’s not something I want started at all .

The responsible thing to do is not charge Trump

We don't know the full extent of the, over 30 charges yet.
It more than likely going to extend to other "business fraud" charges, and not just dealing with "campaign finance violations," as you are so concerned.
So we need to wait and see.

Judge signs off on DA request to publicly disclose Trump indictment that was returned, records show.

The judge overseeing the case against former President Donald Trump signed off on an order Thursday which granted Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg's request to publicly disclose an indictment — currently under seal — that was returned by a grand jury earlier in the day against former President Donald Trump.

Republicans while trump is POTUS ... "You can not indict trump while he is president."

Republicans when trump in no longer POTUS ... "Why are all these jurisdictions now charging trump, when he is no longer president, and now running for office again. It's an outrage!"

You're niave if you believe the bolded.

Even Democrat Andrew Cuomo said: "It’s a coincidence that Bragg goes after Trump and Tish James goes after Trump and Georgia goes after Trump? That’s all a coincidence? I think it feeds the cynicism and that’s the cancer in our body politic right now."

As if anyone cares about the opinion of Andrew Cuomo.

Yeah, it's not like he was a golden boy in the Democrat's party for 10 years or so

He never was. You are just making shiite up.

The guy was given important speaking slots at the DNC more than once, he was elected to governor by massive margins even by NY standards, his Covid-press conferences got aired by major national networks in 2020, people speculated that he might be a VP choice for a Dem candidate

He was a Dem golden boy until Liticia James' harassment probe

Nah. I don't agree with this.
But what is clear, is the "golden boy" to Republicans for the last 8 years.
How is your golden boy doing right now?

CNN is still the only outlet reporting 30+ charges. I think we should treat this cautiously.

This in not what I am seeing.

NBC ... "Trump faces about 30 counts in New York grand jury indictment"
NYT ... "Mr. Trump faces more than two dozen counts, according to two people familiar with the matter."

But there are many outlets that are careful reporting the number of charges. This is true.

Redban has 20 posts in this thread since yesterday morning. Nearly a whole page of him coping and seething. Just priceless.

At least he's a blue av (and not even a centrist one) giving his thoughts and making some predictions in a thread about negative developments for Team Trump. That's more than can be said about... a lot of Atlas.

This is true.
We should give him some credit (I suppose).

30-second mark to 02:50. Looks he made a new commercial alluding to the indictments

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tqi2bBpmSZU&t=35s&pp=2AEjkAIB

His commercial just makes you want to vomit.
I still can't believe that all his cult followers at rallies, and in the background in that commercial, are like 99% white people. Why is that? Doesn't the GOP see a problem with that? Any party should (here in the US).

In the video (above) where trump is getting off his plane in NY ... is that Melania near the end of the video, who by-passes the vehicle donald got into, and instead walks-off to go to a vehicle parked farther back? (The tall woman wearing a white sweater and carrying a bright light-brown bag.)

Why would she not want to ride in the same vehicle with donald?

Sad!

What a BEAUTIFUL image!
Hopefully we see more pictures like this in the near future, in other jurisdictions, around the nation.

Those two aren't contradictory at all? He's staring his adversary in the eye.
I was talking about how you flip flop between liking Trump and not liking Trump.
I don't like Trump. I just think he's the best option we have.

You don't have to lie. You can say you want fascism because you're also a fascist. It's okay. We already know.

I'm a nationalist, not a fascist. I don't support authoritarian government for Americans. I support social libertarianism for citizens, and am anti-intervention/anti-foreign aid/anti-immigration/anti-free trade.

In other words, you're a Fascist.

Struggling to think of any fascist leaders who were/are social libertarians.

Honestly, the charges are bit...underwhelming. He should still face accountability, of course.

But they really might be "weak sauce", to be honest.

The most important aspect of these charges are that it's the first time a president has ever been charged with a crime.  Someone had to break that barrier.  Now Merrick Garland and the others considering going after Trump can't use: "What would happen if we charged a president?"  "This has never happened before," "There could be chaos in the streets" etc. as excuses for not acting.  In this respect, Bragg has performed an invaluable service.

Hmmm. Very interesting. Never looked at it that way.

Are you…at all familiar with this poster’s views?!?!

Fascism and social libertarianism cannot function together. It's impossible.

People thought donald Buffoonery trump and the Republican party could "not function together" and be "impossible" ... but yet here we are today (for that last 8 years actually).
