I don't believe people realize what will happen if Trump gets arrested.  A lot of his supporters feel they have nothing to lose.  Plus, Trump himself is going to fuel the fire.  This is going to get very ugly.... 

I agree. So while we're still in the phase where we can make jokes, personally I think the NYPD should hold a press conference, if they do arrest Trump, thanking DeSantis for his cooperation in allowing Trump to be handed over to New York.

One difference between this and January 6th that may help Trump is that I think mainstream GOP politicians didn't yet appreciate on January 6th just how much pressure they were under from their primary voters to stick with Trump no matter what (see Graham's "count me out" speech from that day). And while the midterms might have tampered the "MAGA or die" part of the GOP, a lot of nominally safe incumbents (those who fear getting primaries over losing a general at least) will probably be more inclined to stay on the Trump train than they were two years ago.

This reminds me of how QAnon would keep setting up dates that they "calculated" based on Q info that Trump would order the mass arrests while he was in office or the dates that he supposedly would be reinstated and returned to power afterwards. After all of those ended up obviously false Q communities now actually frown on "date fagging" because of exactly this.

It's possible Trump might get indicted here and plenty of other cases as well. But predicting exact dates like this is a fool's errand.

Agreed on not trying to predict a specific date, but the biggest difference between this and the QAnon predictions in my mind is that Hillary Clinton has never tweeted out "TRUMP IS GOING TO HAVE ME ARRESTED NEXT WEEK! -H"

The number of people who still have a shiftable opinion of Trump or whose minds are set but might not turn out to vote is so small, I have a hard time seeing this have a huge political impact in the general. BUT, one group I really think this screws over is generic down-ballot R incumbents who will now have to answer to the Trump crazies about why they didn't "do something" to stop this and who probably won't get to see any sort of coattails even in a hypothetical 2024 Trump mega-landslide.

Citing Andrew Cuomo as a reason Democrats shouldn't support prosecuting Trump for criminal wrongdoing will be about as effective as citing Liz Cheney or Joe Walsh as a reason Republicans should support prosecuting him.

People like to move trials out of places where they think they are not getting a fair deal. The same thing happened in 1999-2000 when the 4 undercover NYPD cops that killed Amadou Diallo 41 times with bullets requested their trial out of the Bronx and into suburban Albany.
