LMAO I can't believe we're really doing the "it's okay if Trump was sleeping, everyone does it! Sleepy Joe bad, Sleepy Trump good!" nonsense. And these people like to call Democrats delulu

The cope is so sad, especially after they spent the last for years absolutely roasting Biden for much, much less

The issue is not so much Trump nodding off as such; he's an old man, the proceeding is tedious, and by all reports it was a very warm courtroom.  It's that he did so when he's the one who makes such a big deal about "Sleepy Joe" Biden.  It's one of his childish insults boomeranging on him, and that provides fair game to ridicule him.

The statute of limitations for a misdemeanor charge has expired.
It is 2 years from commission of the crime.

Statute of limitations was suspended by Cuomo for 1 year during Covid, and the statute of limitations apply only when the defendant is inside NY. Did Trump actually spend a total of 2 years inside NY from 2017-present, excluding 2020? He moved to Florida at some point in that span, and he resided in Washington obviously for 4 years

When the person is outside the state, they suspend the statute of limitations to combat people who flee the jurisdiction to avoid penalties. Trump obviously didn't flee the jurisdiction to avoid prosecution, but the law still applies if he was out-of-state to be President in D.C.

I thought the statute of limitations doesn't matter where the person is. Certainly John Surratt had the time run out while he wasn't in the US. He probably would have been hanged if he didn't flee.

It probably differs state to state. But in NY, the clock stops if the person is out of state , based on all I’ve heard and read

A juror has been dismissed, apparently raising concerns that her identity was in danger of being compromised.

It's clear the defense "needs" the current employer of potential jurors in order to make it easier to intimidate them. Not directly, but to make sure they know they can be found by the online Q mob.

A juror is being interviewed on MSNBC after being dismissed for saying she cannot be impartial, said Trump looks less orange, more yellow, and not angry but bored. She just became a citizen and got jury duty.

One anti-Trump juror excused herself. Good development for Trump.

If he's yellow, that could be from jaundice, a common symptom of liver failure. Years of prescription drug abuse (like Adderall) can cause that

As I suspected, juror 4 is pro-Trump. He will probably be excused.

Jesse Watters is one of the most annoying people on TV IMO, but the media as a whole* bears some responsibility, too.

In a case this high profile, you need to be careful about how much you're reporting when it comes to jurors.

Why is America... like this about juries? There's maybe a level of culture clash here that actually hurts my head...

Every single juror identity going to leak, and they're going to have their lives ruined, just like those poll workers in 2020. What a totally f'd situation.

I am worried about my identity being revealed- let me do an interview with MSNBC is certainly a choice.

This sort of stuff would result in prison sentences in Britain.

It would in America too for anyone other than Trump.

It usually isn't. It's just the nature of this case.

Although I have heard of some interesting wrinkles in jury selection that I don't know if is common outside the US. For example my father once served on a jury for a guy who was charged with whatever North Dakota's equivalent of aggravated DUI is because he was twice over the legal limit, (it was actually a pretty open and shut case but the guy was a moron not only rejecting the plea deals but also defending himself, and his claim is that he only went to his car to grab a pack of cigarettes even though the car was running when the police found him), and during jury selection the judge had the entire pool present and started by asking who here doesn't ever drink alcohol. A few people raised their hands and the judge said "Thank you. Anyone with their hand raised is now excused."

If they can't handle it, they can excuse themselves, just like juror 2 did.
