What kind of sociopath would vote no?  This forum is a disturbing place sometimes.

I would support a ban on guns even if it didn’t reduce crime because guns are gross.

Yes, if God were to come down from heaven and say something like this, I would support his preferred policy. But anything short of that is hardly a guarantee.

40% voted no. Almost half of a supposedly left-leaning forum prefers guns to human lives. That is f***ing unbelievable and a huge mask off moment for this forum. The whole crux of the argument against gun regulations was supposed to be that they wouldn't work and that gun violence would continue to the same extent, we'd still have a high number of school shootings, etc. Now, we have people outright saying that even if this were to guarantee a drop in violent crime (an issue that people supposedly care about a lot recently) that wouldn't change their minds. Unrealistic hypothetical or not, you all are admitting that you value gun ownership more than human lives, which is, frankly, deplorable. If this is truly the case, then how can any of us you say "thoughts and prayers" or "mental health matters" with a straight face, if the reality is that you just don't care how many people are brutally murdered, permanently injured and/or traumatized for life so long as you get to have your gun. If you don't view school shootings as something terrible or tragic, and simply see them as an annoyance and inconvenience, then don't pretend to care.
